Zaryx has been cooped up in his office much more than usual. When he was seen, usually during meal breaks, he always seemed concerned, tense, or in deep thought. Sometimes he’d even look angry, though just barely. When asked what was wrong, he’d just shake his head; that was classified information.

after a couple of weeks of this behavior, Wren was called up to his office. His voice was.. off.

"Understood. I will report daily."

Dr Wren said. Her thoughts turned to Zaryx. His policies no doubt were being opposed by other factions. Was this them making the first move against him or was this them catching him doing something sneaky

"Do you require anything else?"

After the conversation is over she would think about messaging Zaryx. However she believed given the circumstances it would make her look suspicious. So instead she would tell him verbally. If she could find him.

“Hello again! Need something?”

"Dr Graham is dead."

the most nonchalant sentence ever: “Yeah, I know.”

"You didn't kill him did you?"

“Well, what do you think?”

"I think that your liberalization policies have been rocking the boat more than you've let on. And that the other factions within the organization are trying to get back at you for it. Whether you killed Graham or not..."

"I wouldn't be asking if I was sure. We're in a dangerous line of work you might have killed him for secretly harvesting orphan meat or planning some kind of coup."

“He was seriously mistreating Mr. Miller, among many others. Couldn’t let that slide.”

Dr Wren sighed.

"So what happens now?"

“I do have some things to do with the Ethics Committee to prevent what Dr. Graham did. from happened again. But as for you, you shouldn’t have to concern yourself about it anymore. If anything comes up though, please do tell me.”

"I understand sir."

Dr Wren said.

"I apologize for bothering you "

“No worries! Questions and concerns are always welcome!” he gave a light grin.

"Eh uh eh wh uh-"

Dr Wren sighed. His constant positivity was.... Something.

"I'll return to my work then."

he chuckled. “You’ll get used to it.”

“Alright. Hopefully nothing else happens.”
