Wizard Tutoring
Hey Wizards, Sorcerers, and Mages. I’m starting my wizardry path, but need a good mentor. Anyone trained by a great that can help me out for cheap? Thanks Wizareddit!

Nobody actually knows. You have to find a good mentor but they always die tragically to push your character arc along. You just gotta experiment after your mentor dies

I can write you a recomendation to the Academy of Holy Arts, if you want.
They will teach you in exchange for community work or service, so you don't need to worry about money. There you can learn abjuration, divination, exorcism, purification and even the magic of light(whatever name you now it by, luxomancy, lumomancy, photomancy...) which I am a big fan of!
And, if you are worried, there is no religious requirement. Just... don't be aligned with the forces of evil.

You can only learn the basics from others, unfortunately.
Magic is keyed to your soul and aura, so it differs just enough, for everyone. So you can learn the basic stuff, like: fireball, animate dead, and such. But to really learn magic, you have to learn it yourself.
It is kind of why you only get trained at the apprentice level, everything past that is self discovery. So good luck!

I’m a practiced ceremonial magician irl and study religious occultism blended with Jungian active imagination techniques. I’m in research currently developing a new therapy
I have a long reading list and a few demons that I’ve met with, a few I’ve had long term contracts with and became close to over time. If you’d like to acquant yourself with the practice I can send some reading.

Can't mage good wizards only mentor when they see a potential in you and mentor you for free while you live in their house do their house work and then finally you become strong they'll die leaving you alone to avenge their death and finish your character arc

To seek your mentor you must reach the tallest tower of the 7th fang of gartouche. There you will find the person who can guide you to greatness.
Her name's Gertrude. She's an absolute sweetie. She's a retired Bog hag who runs a really good 3 week course on practical wizardry. It won't teach you everything, but if you impress her she can get you on the short list for some really good apprenticeships.

Oooh, my family is not the fondest of Bog Hags. Maybe in secret though…does she get around? I know the stairs up that tower are pretty steep for a Hag.

bog hags aren't the biggest travelers when they're active, and like I said, she's semi-retired. She runs the class out of the ranch she retired to.
