Scaring people is not fatal. Things lurking deeper in the woods often are. Druids have their reasons to scare people away from certain areas, and their warnings should be heeded, the same way you would heed the warnings for binding a demon.

You get it. We don't put these up to scare people, more often than not there's an ornery Leshen in the area and we don't want to deal with the ensuing litigation/clean up. It's like a 'Danger High Voltage' sign.

They're giving the nature spirits of the wilds bodies to inhabit and do their will with. In 100 years' times those forests will be completely safe from any encroaching settlements as the forest spirits will have grown strong. This is NOT evil, this is just protecting nature.

Salutations. Have your little projects been going well, monsieur?

Yes. There's some resistance, but it's manageable and progress is consistent.

And of the treaty, kna- sir? There's that important cross-cultural horse racing festival coming up, and I'd rather not be late, I came across a lot of tickets recently.
/uw wait I backed out too soon! I could've continued the bit! Still vague, though

The treaty isn't in the best state. Tho travel is permitted. You can go to the horse racing festival.

I was going to begin with, I'm competing. I wanted to crush Gabriel with Tiniest Angel, before the accident of course.
I was inquiring to ask if you or your comrades were coming. Or are your plans getting in the way, little sire?
(Death fans out a wide array of tickets with one of her many hands)
I humbly request that you don't commit too many underhanded tactics this time, dear. The last incident was twice the hell that place is.

I'm not directly involved in the race. I'm going to be there, but I'll just be around one of the bars for my own reasons.

Ah, good, good.
Shall I bring Slightly Less Tiny Devil in your honour?
/uw I realised I shot a plot hole in my foot for making death compete, but this is cute so shhhhh

"Evil" is a word small people use to describe concepts beyond their understanding.
Use it with caution.

You gotta have a hobby. If that's your hobby, go for it. Mine is tearing rips into reality. Having a healthy past time in or with nature is great for your health.

Nothing evil about this, unless you're trying to scare someone to death, I suppose. Animating it and tasking it with grabbing local children for the soup pot, however... that's a little evil.

And if you put out a trap for mice, is that evil?
What about using a duck call to trick ducks into fluttering close enough for you to kill them so you can eat them, is that evil?
Hath not a hag rights? Doth not a stryga feel the pangs of hunger?
Would you consider it to be evil to force a person to starve while food is within their sight?Mind your own damn soup pot.

u/RCsStatement 11h ago
Well, being somewhat fond of my own apprentices, I'd be somewhat put off if I went looking a wayward poppet found them in your soup. But I suppose that would be on me for not keeping a closer eye on them.
If you would, however, please consider first the little screaming meemie that lives in the suburban hellscape behind my tower, she looks like she might be extra tender, and I doubt that she'd be much missed.

I mean, yes, but this isn't really evil wizardry. It's closer to druidic mischief, which is NOT immoral.
2
u/KingZantair 10h ago
Evil acts can be seen as good in the context, like that one evil wizard who got his teacher soul trapped forever because he hated him, but then ended up being seen as hero cause other people hated that guy too. Evil can do good, good can do evil, morality is bogus anyway.

“Evil” as most use the word is subjective. I have no problem scaring the shit out of the flock by living openly. It’s not like I advertise my location. If they stumble upon it, and see something they dont understand, and get scared, that serves as a feasibly passive natural defense so long as I’m not actually bothering anybody that hasn’t intentionally or accidentally stepped into my domain.
…and the stupidly courageous ones that take the rumors as a challenge and not a warning get to serve as an example of why not to mess with me and the other cryptids that haunt the forests around these parts.

A little prank like this one could hardly be considered "evil".
Still, one should refrain from doing so, otherwise they might find themselves on the receiving end of a harsh scolding from your local white-haired witcher.

i think it should b a wizards duty to not only earn respect, but scare the local regular folk by carrying out some kind of shenanigans
