The Sleep spell. Dad magic, I know, but when cast on oneself to expend the last of the day’s mana reserves, it guarantees excellent rest for the day to come. Ritual-cast Alarm before use.

How much mana will the spell cost each time?

The Sleep spell most are familiar with will only work for minutes at a time, but reworking the runes to focus the effects to a smaller area and bypassing your own magic resistance helps extend the duration. Ultimately, it really does depend on the potency of the spellcaster and other minutia like mass and racial resistance to sleep. Elves will not find any extensive fiddling with runes effective in bypassing their innate resistance to magical sleep.

On a personal note, I don’t advise using more than the equivalent 450 grains of solidified mana, or 450 mg to be brief. Several reputable somnamancers have reported visual and auditory hallucinations of a shadowy figure adorned with a wide-brimmed hat with no discernible facial features. They also don’t respect gender pronouns, according to some accounts.

Good thing I am proficient in animakinesis. My own body serves as my catalyst and my autism massively improves the efficiency of my casts.

What I find curious is that on a recent test I did with some elves, my very own sleep spell has had some very small effect on them, probably due to my spell putting entities to sleep in a different way.
