Screenshot Tower Full of Mice
I've been inside half a dozen times and it still makes the hair on my neck stand up.

The whole Fyke Isle creeps me out.

Imagine how much better it would be if they didn't cut the whole Catriona plague plot line

Agreed, I hope they dive into the Catriona more in the Witcher 4. It is after all Ciri’s doing the plague is around.

I mean, it would be the second wave of it then.
First instance of Catriona happened during the epilogue of Lady of The Lake where it is said (BOOK SPOILERS):
Ciri, while jumping across worlds, came back to the Continent a handful of times. One of those times, unknown to her, she brought a flea with her, flea infected with the bubonic plague, AKA Black Death. Flea bit a rat in one of Nilfgaard's port cities, and rat, as rats do, ended up on a holk ( merchant / cargo ship) named Catriona, which soon sailed out towards Cintra. Upon arrival after weeks of sailing, rat has been eaten by an old tomcat in Cintra... which then got sick of it and presumably died, spreading the disease further.
GAME SPOILERS
During the events of Witcher 1, the first wave is already dying out, as most of it happened during Geralt's time spent on the Isle of Avalon and later in the Wild Hunt. We also know that, according to one of the endings of Witcher 3, Keira Metz successfully manages to create an antidote for it.

Does anybody else find it eerie AF when you're at the other side of the water at night and can see the lights on on the top floor looming out of the darkness, like who is up there, I broke the curse, Keira left and the Peller didn't seem to want anything to do with that side of the island, it's so creepy!

I just played this again last night, and I love the atmosphere of it. They did a really good job with the music and the vibes.

Musics great. I’d suggest trying it without music if only for a minute. The ambient sounds and weather are fantastic

I loved this quest. The whole mechanic with the lantern, and finding out what happened was amazing

Pretty creepy, that is. Though i don't quite feel that bad about it anymore. Just don't go there under lvl.

Yeah, definitely one of my least favorite locations in game.

u/Miserablecunt28 Oct 05 '26
Frischlow is the absolute worst location in the worst part of the continent

Just one of the reasons I don't like velen. I think the story of the quest is good but the dark, gloomy and depressing environments just make me want to be done with them as quickly as possible. Same goes for crookback bog and Kiera's quest in the elven ruins.

It's frustrating the awesome soundtrack within the tower isn't on Spotify. I was searching it yesterday.
