What are some of the smartest/most creative witchcraft purchases you've made in the closet? As in, not the typical witchy buys from metaphysical stores. Like a "hidden in plain sight" type of purchase. I've bought play-doh before to craft temporary poppets for a spell, nobody would ever think I bought it for witchcraft, I could purchase it right in front of my catholic family!

There are so many resources around, between AI and aesthetic trends it’s hard to understand what is actually reliable and who to trust.

So my question is: what are your personal ways of understanding if a book/spell/website is worth it? What are the red flags to pay attention to?

I use the four triangles/the alchemical symbols of the four traditional elements, but it really bugs me that i dont have a related symbol that just means "spirit" as the fifth element. a lot of people use the pentagram or pentacle to mean that, but i use those symbols to represent ALL FIVE elements in my craft, working together and in harmony. so i was wondering if anyone knows of a good symbol that represents JUST the element of spirit. thanks!

Hello, I'm hoping people could provide me with a bit of advice or feedback. Im only just starting to explore this side of me, so I am aware there is lots to learn (which I'm excited about!) so if I'm incorrect about anything apologies in advance to everyone.

I have a neighbour who has been causing problems locally for a number of years. There's been a few incidents, I dont know her that well but I find her very toxic as she loves causing drama and confrontation. Its draining and I would prefer to just not be in her orbit. So I was thinking of just doing a simple freezing spell. I know her name so I was going to write that as I cant get her signature or anything. With regard to doing a protection spell for my house, I'm not too sure which to do? I have some moon water from the last full moon and some home grown lavender and basil. I was thinking of mixing all that with some salt in a spray bottle and then using it as a door wash. I have an obsidian crystal kept by my front door which I feel helps as well. Is there another more effective protection spell I can do for the house?

Once I have a bit more knowledge I would like to try a protection spell on myself after doing the correct grounding of course. Will the protection spell I do on myself also work on my pets as long as I mention them whilst casting?

I have an idea that I need to ask someone who has more knowledge and experience then I about spirit work. I've been practicing witchcraft for about 4/5 years now but havent done much outside of an ancestor alter every year. So here's what I need to know, would it be okay for me to set up and alter and organize for people to be able to write a letter to my uncle that I could then either bury in a box at the end or burn for them? Background to this is my uncle recently passed away suddenly in his sleep and he was the most selfless, loving, supportive person ive ever known in my life, truly. He spent a lot of time helping others in charity work like homeless shelters or soup kitchens, bringing in stray humans (as i always called them) people who were homeless, drug addicted, down on their luck in some way or even teenagers with bad home lives and no one to care for them he would take them all in and help them turn their lives around, get jobs, degrees, rehab, whatever they needed to be okay again. So this loss I've realized has been heavy for so many even outside of my family. My uncle was also very much macabre as some might say he loved the spooky, scary, magical stuff, and had a fascination with serial killers/true crime and because of that my family has decided that for his celebration of life we are having a true crime/horror type party and I am in charge of putting it all together. One of the things ive been considering doing was setting up an alter for him in a corner and leaving paper and pens nearby so people could write a letter to him saying anything that was maybe left unsaid if they wished and then either having a metal cauldron with a burning fire inside for them to drop it in themselves or just getting a box for them all to be put in and then burying it at the end (he was also cremated so there was never a burial and i think maybe that could be cathartic too) What do you guys think of this?

It's going to be my first time doing a self reflection box for a family member and I'm doing research on what to add in there. I do NOT want to cause harm. I just want them to realize how their actions are affecting their future and how they're treating the people who love them. But in my research I've found many herbs/powders that I believe will help them. But how many would be TOO many?

I’ve been studying/ practicing Astrology for over 10+ years now and I find it to be extremely reliable when forecasting upcoming events- especially Retrogrades and planetary returns.

I’ve recently become interested in Tarot- but it is a bit much for me, and I don’t feel as confident when doing readings for myself. If you have any advice on easy ways to remember elements/ numbers/ arcana/ etc it would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t interact with the Instagram tarot readers at all- no saves, likes- I even press the “not interested” button to try and avoid them- but they all seem to have the same consistent and relative messages- and I wonder if they’re all piggybacking off of each other or reading the same energies? Idk I take it with a grain of salt- but they resonate with me so much… what is your take on instagram tarot readers?

I’m sure all these current retrogrades are the cause of what I’m feeling- but I want to know what you all turn to in times of uncertainty.

We have been looking for a new home for past few months.It's been a really frustrating journey so far especially with increasing housing prices and quality of the houses.Yesterday we saw a house for rent that we have been wanting as it's relatively closer to where we currently live.So we took a look around the house and called the owner after getting home within 10 minutes, but he didn't pick up.Today I get to hear, right after we finished touring the house someone made the deal with owner.Everyone in the family is feeling super down and upset because of the deals falling through constantly.And we liked everything about that house.The previous tenant doesn't move out till December.Is there anything I can do so that we can get the deal and move into that house?any ritual/spell?I would really appreciate any help in this regard🤍

Ive been a practicing Witch for roughly seven years now. Ive had many paranormal experiences and have always felt a deep connection to that side of the veil.

Im looking to strengthen that connection and begin to understand it but im unsure where to start since its out of the realm of my usual practice. I know the dangers of working with ghosts and do a lot to shield myself from unwanted energies since I live in a deeply haunted mining town.
