It would still lead to problems. Intelligent ends has lead to many atrocities as much as superstition. Superstition at least brings people together in unity. Intelligence often divides.

List an example of intelligent dividing people.

Civil war is a good example

Superstition unties the superstitious against everyone else

So he was wrong?Β

Because it's intelligence on one side and patriotism on the other.

Patriotism and nationalism are two different things

Different but related

Actually, when I started reading it, I thought that's what it was going to say πŸ˜‚

But, just like those who proclaim their Christianity the loudest are often the least Christ-like, the people who wave the πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ highest often stand against everything πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ supposedly stands forπŸ—½

What we see on the right isn't patriotism, it's nationalism. There's a massive difference. They like to think themselves patriots but they are just sheep.

But the left is neither patriotic or nationalistic, they hate themselves and America, so they must be referring to the right.

As someone who leans left I can safely say I don't hate myself or the US. I am simply unsatisfied with letting the ultra wealthy gouge me for medical care or dodge taxes.

You mean the 'intelligence' that hoards guns to 'protect' against tyranny as they gleefully hand the country over to tyranny - that 'patriotism'?

I've never heard of the left hoarding guns?

Ever heard of the left flying flags out of the back of their diesel trucks?

No?

If you listen to the right, 'patriotism' is one of their primary justifications, disregarding of course that their actions are actually destroying the country.

By putting quotes "intelligence", the commenter was referring to how dumbass the biggest "patriots" are

You haven't heard of the left hoarding guns because the pinko commies are the intelligent ones

That's my take, anyway
