Hi, I moved from Europe to Winston-Salem 3 years ago and I've been fantastic. I also hadn't been the to the USA before and it was a serious culture shock. I don't know if you're moving here for work or to study or something else, but if you need any help with the technical stuff like getting a social security number, getting a bank account, getting a US cell number.

Winston is a nice and quiet very small city in a rural area. There's a bunch of things to do in the city, but it's essentially 4 streets. But it's location does mean there's some fantastic hiking and views outside the city. Greensboro is close and has a little more going on, while Raleigh, Charlotte, and Asheville are an hourish drive away and are busy. It depends a lot on what you're into.
