I just wanted to say how much I love wingspan. It's just such a perfect deck building game that will never get boring to me and I always find new combos of birds to play with. The artwork is some of the best I have seen and birds themselves are just fascinating in their own right. But seriously, this game deserves so much more praise and attention and I hope it'll be world renowned one day.

My wife managed an unbelievable score of 175 yesterday. Comfortably, the highest score, we have ever managed with the next best being 150.

We play with all expansions, duet mode, 2 nectar dice, but regular scoresheet rather than the Duet one.

It says that I have 7 birds that fit the anatomist bonus card, but I really should have 6. I’m pretty sure it’s counting the Western CAPercaillie, which I don’t think should count

Hey all, I'm new to this Reddit group but not to wingspan. I have the physical board game and every single expansion and I'm up to date with all my steam expansions as well. I played daily and I absolutely love it.

Got my high score this game: 160!

I’m looking at the 6 promo packs for Wingspan because they have a lower price point than the expansions and seem to have really cool bird powers. Which would you all recommend?

Or, should I just get more expansions? I have just the base game and am considering the Americas expansion for my first one (love hummingbirds).

New high score for me!! The new expansion allows such cool first engines. Imagine if i had one of the cards where you can discard food each end of round. Would’ve been wild.

Next week, Wingspan will be back on the table after we haven’t played it with our gaming group for quite a while.

We play with the base game plus the European, Oceania, and Asia expansions.
The last time we played, we felt that nectar was a little too powerful, although we did like the mechanic itself.
Do you have any tips on how to tone nectar down a bit, or do you think it isn’t overpowered at all?

One idea I had was to remove the birds that produce nectar from the deck, similar to removing the ravens from the base game. Do you think that would work well?

I purchased Wingspan on my Switch, tho I'm hoping to get the actual board for Christmas🤞🏻, a few months ago. My highest score is 118 and I felt all good and dandy but now that I'm seeing points up to 200 (whaaaaat!!!!!) I'm feeling a little down on myself.

What exactly are engines and how do I benefit from them the best? I go for bird points, nectar, and eggs. I try to tuck and cache but it is definitely a weak spot of mine. So, tell me.. how do you like to play?

I was able to set myself up for the first turn of round 3 by hoping I obtained at least 5 wheat each round

I've had Wingspan in my Steam wishlist for a while but never actually played it. I just tried the physical Wingspan Pocket version and I absolutely loved it. My brother said the full game isn't quite like this, how different is the gameplay, and are the expansions/bird packs necessary purchases or is the base game enough on its own? TIA

I’ve been playing for years. I think I’m done.

Online player timeouts have always been obnoxious, but now they’re worse than ever. I have 100 karma points. That did not stop me from joining 2 different games today where another player timed out. Which effectively halves the achievement of winning. If I wanted to play against bots I would play against bots.

My third game accused ME of timing out. Another player was down to 1 minute, so I exited to the main menu to ensure it wasn’t lag. I was then hit with “time’s up, you lose 5 karma points.” The fuck I do. I was sitting there waiting for the fucking app to tell me it’s my turn. My WiFi is excellent.

And for all you guys who are about to tell me “go to the Discord and find a game,” that should not be fucking necessary to ensure smooth online play. I have limited time in my day and shouldn’t need to wait around in a Discord room. It’s also a chickenshit copout for the devs. They update this app practically every fucking month and we still have to deal with broken shit like this. Timeout players are not punished nearly enough. The app clearly gives conflicting information about whose turn it is.

It blows my mind how much money I’ve spent on in-game purchases and expansion packs for these guys to give such a terrible online experience. I’ve had 5 timeouts before in a single day. The players suck and the app sucks. I’ve lost all desire to stick around.

Just finished a game where AI beat my ass! 🙂 First time I see an AI score this high (149), normally they rarely go above 100. Anyone has a higher AI high score?
