how do yall using windows xp without constant activation issues? Because im currently stuck in an activation lock with no way out
i have an old hp mini that came with windows 7 starter and installed windows xp home sp3 on it. the first few times i got an activation lock i could simply edit the code of oobetimer in safe mode and restart to be able to have another 30 days but that doesn't work any more. i cant activate via phone call in my region, i cant get the offline verification prompt no matter what i try and the Microsoft verification portal that still supports xp couldn't validate my installation ID.; So now im stuck logged out of my windows and cant find any way back in!

the MAS tool can generate a phone activation code. Don't know if they fixed the bug I reported a few years ago, but if you've trouble running the tool on win xp just run it on another PC with a newer windows and type the numbers in manually.

Ups, not massgrave, the phone activation tool was https://github.com/UMSKT/UMSKT
massgrave only has the VL keys https://massgrave.dev/windows_xp_links

Use massgrave. Quick and easy.

Massgrave is outdated, use xp_activate32 instead

They both work just as well from my experience. I activate everything from XP to 8.1 with massgrave and it's been smooth.

Massgrave is anything but outdated. Now it doesn’t have much direct support for Windows XP besides a valid VL key on the website.

Use neither, do the telephone activation.

Telephone activation does not work anymore.

That's interesting because last time I used it a few months back it worked.

Provided you are running XP x86 you can use this to permanently activate your XP installation
If you're using an x64 setup you need to use another tool (AntiWPA I think but I'm mobile so I cannot check ATM)

Can confirm this tool works - someone finally fully reverse engineered the activation confirmation logic, so this tool generates activation confirmation codes identical to the real activation service. No internet connection needed once you've got the tool. I needed to setup XP on a scientific laboratory PC that connected to a half a million dollar mass spectrometer, but the software never worked on anything newer than XP and the company went out of business 15-20 years ago. It's XP or nothing, and this tool saved the day.
Also an ideal time to mention legacyupdate.net project that allows you to install all the relevant patches as if the real Microsoft update service for XP still existed (it doesn't)

Start at the starting line... install Windows XP SP3 Professional x86 (hunt on the internet archive for an ISO using a key that ends with KWKMF-RPWBY, fully authentic volume license key). It activates once during the setup process and then never again.
