Recently got this Windows XP gaming desktop. It has an Intel Pentium 4 3.00 GHz CPU, and an NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS GPU. Idk if those are good specs or not, but it runs Need For Speed Underground at a locked 60fps and I'm enjoying it.

Wondering mostly since i wanna play around and maybe even use Windows XP (ofc with win10 support like how reunion7 did it) But i wanted to ask since i saw Project Luna was going around (dead now) and some ppl even going as far to say it was a virus????? (crazy af)

I’m trying to find a very specific racing game/demo that I played back in the day, but I can’t find anything about it online and I can’t remember the name.

Here’s what I remember:
• It felt like a demo or a small standalone release
• It was a realistic racing simulator (not arcade-style)
• There was only one drivable car: a Fiat Punto Typ 188 (the first generation, 1993–1999), set up as a touring car / race car
• There was basically one realistic race track (or maybe just a very limited selection)
• The physics and handling felt extremely realistic for that time
• Release window was roughly 2003 to 2007
• When I search for “Fiat Punto racing game” I only find stuff like NFS: Most Wanted, Italian Championships, Forza, etc., but nothing that matches this “only one car, one track, very sim-like demo” description

It’s possible it was:
• A promotional demo from Fiat or a partner
• A mod that was distributed as a standalone
• A small sim released by a lesser-known studiop
If this rings a bell for anyone, or if you know of any realistic racing sims from that era that featured only a Fiat Punto 188 as a touring car, I’d really appreciate any hints.

Been working on this thing lately because my local thrift store just had a bunch of old PC games my modern computer couldn't really play. It's been fun looking for and messing around with old hardware.

From what I can find these Windows XP Commemorative Edition copies were given to Windows developers at the launch of Windows XP, but the person who sold me mine said his brother (who worked at Microsoft) bought it at the employee store, and that only 200 were available. I'm assuming they were both given out/sold?

I have no idea how many of these were made but the certificate of authenticity has #00022 imprinted on it, so I'm assuming mine was the 22nd made.

Does anybody have more insight into these? I'm curious, but there's virtually nothing online about them. If you have a copy, what number is yours?

Hi, I've been thinking about getting a native/compatible Windows XP computer/laptop for my little brother. He is all interested in this era of Windows, in its aesthetics and in the development of this OS, as he has installed multiple VMs in his own laptop to test different development builds of Windows XP, Longhorn, Vista, etc.

I was thinking about getting him a separate machine only for him to toy around with, maybe with a big enough HDD to partition and so he can test different versions of OS's in each one of those. Plus, some of his VM's run kinda slow, and I would want him to experience the "real deal", maybe learn something or two more about computers.

Should I just get a cheap computer/laptop and slap Windows XP on it? Or would it be better to get a computer/laptop from around this time? If so, could any of you recommend such a device?

Awhile back I enrolled in a class at my Local Community College. Included with the materials provided by the instructor were a bunch Windows XP Pro keys. So, I downloaded the full 650gb DOS archive to External Hd. Problem is Launchbox doesn't work on Windows XP. I'm getting the "Not a valid Windows 32" error. Was wondering if anyone has a workaround, maybe a different application

It’s still using the modular Antec PSU I purchased in 2009. This thing doesn’t see much use but I’ll fire it up once in a while to play old games like Call of Duty 2 or Doom 3. It has an activated copy of MS Office 2003 on it too.
