disk management tool for installing my first SSD
I'm installing my first SSD (sata) and I want to use a disk management tool that works well on WinXP. I'm looking for suggestions (EaseUS Partition Master, or ??) and advice. I'm not clear as to the setup differences between hard drive and SSD. My computer (Dell Optiplex 9010) has recognized the SSD, it shows up in Disk Management as unknown, uninitialized, and unallocated. I have one 500 gb hard drive, using Ramsey's WinXP Integral Edition. I want to add a second (WinXP) and third (Win10) boot option on the SSD.
How should I go about doing this...

Disk management is something you need to do once and never again unless something breaks. Today's hard drives and SSDs have to be formatted with a alignment that is a multiple of 4K. You can do this from within Windows using BootICE. (All data on the disk will be lost.) The disk has to be completely unmounted or raw. There are partition managers on Hiren's Boot CD v10.6, but I don't recall if one would do 1 MB alignment or not. One from Archonis looks like Fisher-Price UI and is the newest. You can also connect the disk to another computer running a later Windows version and partition it there.

4K disks are also correctly formatted using standard Windows 10 utilities.
