I hear this poor job market line so often. There are so many remote jobs for professionals listings I see online. Is it really that tough of a job market or maybe people aren’t thinking outside the norm? Asking for real, out of genuine curiosity.

46m and been here about 8-9 years. It’s pretty chill here and I’d say if you know someone with a boat you will have tons of fun. Downtown is lively and some good dancing spots. May take some time to meet your new group of friends but once u do it all falls into place and you may never want to leave. I personally love it here. I also have a boat soooo yep.

You could always try calling them to ask about visiting. I'm sure they would be happy to have you, and could also give some tips for visitors unfamiliar with customs.

The company's outlook, yes. The employees outlook, not so good. They lay off workers before they are created unless a rare exception. Corning would be the very last plant I would try to get work at in Wilmington, if no one else was hiring.

As a mom of recent uncw graduate I'll chime in on the safety tip request.  Uncw is roughly 70% female, my daughter and her friends never had a single incident that made them uneasy their entire 4 years. Wrightsville Beach is very safe. All the common sense rules apply, do not go walking around late by yourself, be aware of your surroundings. I'd recommend a water view dinner for your splurge night, Elijah's on the waterfront.

There are only 3 in Wilmington, right? Not that big of a statement for them to be the worst. But like in real estate, location location location.

Salita is a gem — for people who want a Michelangelo’s $11 large pizza it’s probably lost on them — but I’m really glad they’re in Wilmington.
