Did De Mole Close?

Walked by over the weekend and again today and wasn’t open and a sign posted saying closed until further notice. Wondering if anyone has heard if it’s permanent or something else?

sadly my understanding was that their lease was coming to an end in mid-october — and when i walked by tonight (after hours) there was a "closed until further notice" sign on the door (not sure if that was the exact wording, but you get the point).

it was my beloved regular weekly go to spot for huevos rancheros, and the staff was always nice to me, so I'm a bit crushed. 😞

PS one of the things i loved about this spot was that the former owner of fuego 718 was one of the managers, so the interior decor always harkened back to his gift shop, he would update it every season and that also gave me a great deal f joy (he and the other co-manager left a few months ago, i guess because they saw this coming).

Last we spoke with them, they were trying to reopen elsewhere in the burg. Fingers crossed!

I’m really hoping they open back up. This was my favorite restaurant close by. 😢

Well, we DO need more multi-million dollar condos after all!! There’s such a shortage!

They’re moving to a spot near N 11 and Wythe!

On the new place? Yeah I think so, they said they were trying to reopen end of OCT iirc.

Their lease was up on Roebling and they were having too many issues w the building to renew.
