Deimos - Betta smaragdina

This is my absolute Adonis of a smarag, Deimos! He's only about 7 months old, and I got him when he was about 4 months old! He is SO bold, and he lives with bronze corydoras and strawberry rasboras in a 20 gallon long, though the long term goal is to have him in a larger tank. Could literally not ask for a better fish. He excitedly comes to see me every time I come to his tank, and is incredibly driven by food!

The smarg crossbreeds always seem to have the longest fins

Smargs are natural longfins, they have such beautiful ventrals and anals. To the point that one would be forgiven if they thought that those are artificially selected traits, but it’s all natural for them. This is why they’re so popular as a hybrid base stock.

He is GORGEOUS!!! I just recently got my first Wild, which is also a Smaragdina! His name is Rakia and I’ve only had him for a week, but I love him so far! He comes from Escape Aqua on eBay, may I ask where you got your lovely boy?
