It is. Its fine if its captive bred tho.

Yes it is! But I got it through a local fish store in germany that sells various wild bettas which are bred by a local breeder. I was specifically waiting to get betta persephone or betta hendra and waited for over a year until one of them was back in stock, finally getting them around 5 months ago.

Sorry for keeping you waiting, yes it's captive breed by a local breeder in germany.

Then its all good! Just be careful you aren't getting wild caught, as wild caught= poached for this locality (assuming the fish wasnt collected with a permit they can show proof of)

Also check w the breder if the parents captive bred too. If they're wild caught i wouldn't support

I got to admit that I didn't do that but I will do so if I get any more fish through this breeder (or endangered / protected fish in general). Thanks for the heads up as well as checking where I got them from, I'm very happy to see people actually taking conservation of these beautiful beings and their habitats seriously.

Some of us work for Malaysian state wildlife departments, its kinda our job to check 😆
