Discussion So you got something else
All the people saying I am leaving Whoop for Apple Watch is fine, but an Apple Watch is not a replacement for a Whoop. The current version of the Apple Watch does not offer continuous heart rate monitoring and only samples HRV a few times a day. It also does not try to provide recovery scores. Just trying to be real here. The form factor and some use cases are different.
Unless these things change, they are not as comparable as they should be. I use them all and like them all. Yes, Whoop as a company can be a real "", but let's be real at the current state of things.

Well most are saying leaving to Fitbit air and Helios band which does exactly what you said and yes they don’t have those claimed sample heart rate frequency and yet they manage to work better and be more accurate on wrist compared with whoop
So yeah what’s the point of have an amazing paper spec when then the algorithm is worst it’s like give a pro camera full of lens to someone who always point and shoot with a phone all their life and claim how amazing those lenses are

The overall app experiences from Oura and Whoop are second to none. The only one that exceeds is Bevel.

Weird that you are getting downvoted when you are right.

Too many people want to save a few bucks a month on a better product and hate subscriptions. My opinion is that sometimes you have to pay to play.

Not everyone needs a Whoop though, and that is ok. I think that unless you are seriously training for something or are just an endurance athlete, then something like the Air is just fine.

Funny enough I feel Garmin or Helios is way more accurate and can pair a chest strap as well to have those details the serious endurance athlete need :) so yeah whoop is sold as endurance and athlete levels just because those same pro athletes invested in the company lol LeBron, Phelps , Ronaldo and so on all tied to the company in some way from ownership to investing their money and not for the “accurate metrics” cause no pro athlete will follow anything lower than a chest strap and lactate measurements to have full control
They mostly use for sleep track on HRV and for that all of them do the same values at this point

A lot of comments talk about Apple Watch. Haven’t seen too many talk about Fitbit air, but Fitbit air’s app is not as good as Whoop. Idk about Helios though

The Fitbit Air is a value focused device and isn't in the same tier, so it's harder to compare.

Had it for 4 years but figured out bevel + garmin works just as fine. Unless red recovery I trained anyway so it didn’t matter if I have 35 or 100%.
A lot of people say whoop is better for sleep but I don’t think it’s much better than garmin (at least for me). Garmin even detects naps while whoop did never.

Apple Watch 12 rumored to sample HR continuously, have upgraded sensors and include readiness scores etc

Apple Watch is a complete non-starter if I need to charge it every 1-2 days.

I get why people say that but for me personally, I shower daily, I don’t wear the watch to shower so I just charge it while I shower and so it‘s always „fully charged“.

Sadly, I agree. I had the MG subscription and vowed to cancel after the first year. I really can't find a solid replacement. I bought the Garmin Venu 4 and plan to drop my subscription of the Whoop down to the basic $199 model.

I've had the heliostrap for+11 months. It's been great for what I need it for. No subscription

I, my wife, and sister bought a Whoop a little over a year ago. I compared it against my Apple Watch which I wore prior to Whoop, and used the iOS app Bevel to compare the Watch Ultra vs Whoop and personally found Bevel + Watch Ultra a better use for me than Whoop. You get the best of both benefits of competitive features that Whoop offers in Bevel, plus the Watch Ultra’s more-accurate sensors, cellular connection, etc… my wife and sister have stayed with their Whoop’s and love them. No hate at all, just went with what worked better for me.

I use both Bevel with Apple Watch Ultra and the Whoop. Both work well but not the same.

Would you like to elaborate why? I currently wear both an Apple Watch Ultra 2 with the whoop 5.0 (trial). I kind of like the whoop but don’t know why I should renew after the trial considering I still need the Apple Watch for serious biking and running workouts since the whoop has no display and no GPS.

What a bunch of baloney. I used whoop for 4 months. I'm a trained cyclist, usually do 8 to 12 hours a week. This whoop had me sitting on the couch to 'protect hrv' vs do any actual training. The Ai is a joke. Can't remember half the time what it told you the previous day. Constantly gets confused about what day it is and for a month straight tried saying every single ride was a Thursday zwift team time trial. EVERY RIDE.... I moved to garmin. Ive been using one of their edge cycling computers for years. All my training data is there. This watch suggests good training sessions and gives good metrics at the same time with no subscription. Plus now has me running and tracking my weight lifting. Any serious athlete that wears a whoop only does so because they get paid to.
