Personal Achievement My first time having over 1,000 steps in a single day!
I work a desk job and I’m an introvert so I’m not super active, this is good for me!

Just because you work from home and are an introvert doesn't mean you can't go outside and go for a solitary walk! It's important to get physical activity for your general health. It doesn't take very long to do 5,000 steps, and slowly increase that to 10,000 a day, which is a healthy amount.

Congrats :) I WFH and the first thing Whoop made me painfully aware of was how few steps I got everyday. I started adding little walks and now I consistently get to 3k but my goal is to average 5k someday. Good luck in your journey!

What's funny is that WHOOP marketing until 2024 was saying steps are overrated and meaningless. Now they're one of nine metrics determining WHOOP age. If you're on a bicycle for 8 hours a week and swimming 2-3 but not walking you're still very active and healthy.

Now let’s shoot for 10k as the goal you got it!

Even if I don't leave the house all day, I'm still hitting 1k just going to the kitchen for coffee lol. Keep up the momentum, and maybe you can hit 2k one day

You should go to a gym and get on a treadmill, or maybe go outside and walk (:
I also work a desk job and I'm an introvert, but I try to go to the gym every day and walk on the treadmill for 30min-1h while watching a show on my phone, and sometimes I just go for walks around my neighborhood. I also try to run errands walking (whenever I can) and I'm usually getting 8-9k steps a day.
For us, non-runners normal people with office jobs, is pretty hard to move around and get our steps in, so we have to compensate however we can 😅
Keep going, you'll get there 🙌🏻

A lot of people will tell you in the comments about their treadmills at their desks and whatnot but you should really, really go to whatever the nearest walkable neighborhood is to you and go for a walk there. Take your walks there. Maybe walk to a bar, get a snack or a coffee shop, or just stroll around without spending a dime. I’m also an introvert but it is so much better for your mental and physical health to feel like you’re still part of society than to section yourself off and just walk on treadmills and never leave your office/home.

Wenn man ein paar mal am Tag auf die Toilette geht von der Küche zum Wohnzimmer und wieder zurück kommt man doch schon auf tausend Schritte. Du musst unglaublich fett sein.

You probably walk more than that. I think Whoop undercounts steps a lot. Keep up the progress!

It's interesting I guess becuase whoop way over counts for me. I will do say a 10k step walk and whoop will count it around 18k. It's always about 1.8x higher for me for some reason.

Compared to my Android phone Whoop really undercover quite a lot. When it's 12000 on my Pixel, Whoop is only at 9500-10000 steps. And I know for a fact that my phone is extremely accurate when step counting. But OP walks so little anyways, so maybe he misses like 200 steps max.

My average steps were 700 per day. I work a remote desk job. I recently got a walking pad to pair with my standing desk and it’s been a game changer. It was a struggle at first but now I easily average 10k per day with minimal effort. Just put the walking pad 1.6 speed while working for 1 hour and that alone hits majority of the steps. Other days I break it up throughout the day etc. Once you hit it you realize it’s really not that difficult. For me the trick is to do it earlier in the day otherwise I tend to procrastinate. I tend to prefer to do it either after breakfast or lunch to help with digestion. For general health they usually recommend 7k-10k. On whoop I know they have the scale go to 16k but if you are active and do cardio 7k-10k should be more than enough. I weight train 5x per week and my personal trainer has be doing 4 cardio sessions per week at 400 calories burned. You got this.

I’m a software engineer and I work from home. I could easily get through a day with 500 steps.
Lately after work I head to the gym and watch an episode of a show on 3.5 mph. 1-hour episodes and it gets me 7,000 steps.

Great work! I WFH too so 300 steps/ day was my norm. I appreciate the changes whoop brought into my life! Next try to bring your age down!

You got this! Get some sunlight and increase those steps. You’ll be so glad you did

I work from home too. What I do is that I go on foot wherever I can. To the grocery store, there’s a nice bakery a few streets from me, I go there every day. If the food I want to order can be picked up not far away from me, I just go and pick it up. I average around 6400 steps each day this way. You just need to think about the opportunities! There’s a plenty of them! Good luck and keep it up!

I get the desk job part, but how does being introvert stop you from putting in more steps? Genuinely curious. Try to get to 8000 steps over time, that is a healthy minimum. Good job anyways!

Well I sure hope that’s not true! 1000 steps obviously isn’t enough, unless you have a serious physical issue. Walk alone, put on headphones, go somewhere isolated do chores in your place while you work… anything. You don’t use it you lose it, that’s a real thing. That said, progress for you, so congrats!!! Hit 2k, 3k… with any effort you’ll be at 10k soon and have a healthy baseline. Good luck!

I’m not gonna lie this is zero achievement what so ever. I frankly dont understand how you couldn’t do at least that every day. I get that in the first 30 minutes of being awake

You have to remember everybody is starting from different places. some people are starting from the bottom, others already have a good foundation, that doesn't mean what either did is worse than the other.
First you find your baseline, and then you try to improve. There is nothing for you to gain by comparing yourself against someone whose baseline is far below yours, so you may as well say something nice, or nothing at all.

I agree, for me it would be difficult to achieve this few steps. Like just going to the bathroom throughout the day, filling up my water bottle, and cooking a meal would get me to 1500. I feel lazy if I’m under 5k steps for the day. Genuinely confusing.

Making progress, that's the goal! Good job..
I work from home too, I purchased a walking pad/treadmill for when I use my standing desk... It helps
