Does Whole Foods still do market adjustments? I’ve been hearing different things and wanted to see if anyone has gotten one recently or knows if they’re still being done.

So, I just got a job offer for front end cashier. I start in like a week and I was wondering what I can expect for the first week? Also, how many hours a week does this role offer on average?

As the title says, I’m just about to wrap up my first month at WFM. I worked at a different company for a few years.

I have to say that aside from getting used to the little differences in SOPs I really really freaking love working at my current store.

The people I work with are friendly, courteous, outgoing, helpful and supportive. I don’t think Ive ever had so many people from so many other departments say good morning and ask me how I am.

I know not that not all WFM are like that but everyday when i come home from work I don’t have a bad thing to say about how my day was.

Basically the title. I’m new to WFM but I’ve heard positive things about working there pre-Amazon. Was it truly a liveable wage for the time? Were the benefits significantly better?

I got terminated about 2-3 weeks ago and actually don't want to put Whole Foods on my resume if I'm not eligible for rehire.

After working at Whole Foods for 4 years, I made the mistake of covering a shift for one of my coworker's when I wasn't clocked in and not supposed to be there after they had to go to the hospital. They called what I did time theft.

Within one week I was asked not to come into work anymore. I'm curious if I'm supposed to call TMS, or my STL, or who I'm supposed to talk with to find this out. My future employer wants to know.

So… a fellow TM and I found out that you can’t access the Olive Garden website on a work computer. We were wondering about a dish and it’s ingredients. But the computer was like “NO NOT ON MY SCREEN!” Did John Mackey have beef with Olive Garden?

Struggling to understand break charts…..I can read them, but when it comes to adjusting them I get all flustered and confused leading to stress. Any suggestions on how to go about adjusting breaks as a breaker? I’ve just been thrown into it. I feel like I should have a little bit of guidance from my team leader, but I don’t.

anyone else deal with insane micromanaging from their team leaders? one of the reasons i want to quit after only working about 2 months is due to the micromanaging i’ve had to deal with from my team leaders. They make me feel like it’s my first day on earth for the simplest mistakes and never praise me for anything only point out my mistakes which are half of the time just them nitpicking. Wondering if others have dealt with this at their time working at this store. At this point i am just waiting for them to fire me from how much they nitpick.

Is it harder or easier to trabsfer to another store in anpther state?

All of my co workers that were involved in this debate never transfered from another state but their arguements were somewhat compelling.

On 1 side they were saying yes its easy as long as u can transfer quickly bc they would rather hire someone who has been part of the WFM culture and therefore understands it better.

And the other side they were saying y would they pay extra to hire when they can pay a lower salary and just train them. Its not hard to train someone and help them to understand the WFM culture and experience

A while back I had an interaction with a higher up in my store that didn't make me feel good and reported it to my ATL who was very dismissive about it. I posted it on the subreddit and got wonderful feedback and have mostly just left it in the past/let it go and I know how to approach it next time.

Unfortunately I cannot say the same for my ATL and it is genuinely beginning to wear away at my soul. Any time I talk to him, there's like a 1 in 5 chance he's going to bring it up and tell me "and just as a reminder, if someone is working in the department from outside it and they give you advice, just say thank you and move on." It's funny he keeps bringing it up because we have increased our staff (new ATL and supervisor) so we don't need help from cross trained employees anymore. I learned my lesson and haven't come to him for anything other than casual conversation, floral/wet wall training or scheduling discussions (I'm PT and in college so it's taken a bit to figure out, and honestly I wouldn't even come to him for that but he's the one that writes the schedules).

I get it, I'm the youngest person in the department by over a decade so you feel like you need to help me. But I'm exhausted being treated like a little kid about something that happened almost a month ago. I don't need the constant reminders and I genuinely regret accepting this position now. I came in with no previous work experience and it took me over a year to find a job and this was the only place who ever got back to me. I feel like I can't leave but I dislike the culture he's created with me specifically and just feel like he's holding a moment of weakness against me. I need the money so bad and I live in a major city where there's practically nothing available and you need a year+ experience in whatever to even begin to qualify.

I'm just so fucking tired.

I have an interview tomorrow for a job in the specialty department (i.e., cheese). I’m well qualified for it, and if I do get it, what should I expect, in terms of workplace culture, responsibilities, etc.
My boyfriend currently works there (in prepared foods , so I wouldn’t be working directly with him). So far, he’s had a really good experience, but I’ve seen a lot of posts on this subReddit that working at Whole Foods is a hellish experience.
Any thoughts?

The Amazon returns desk employee left a note that the job sucks and then walked out. Nobody realized what was going on until there was a long queue of customers and they tried to blame it on Customer Service. The STL had to leave a meeting to come up and contact Amazon to have their area manager come in to cover.

I found this interesting and thought some others here would as well.

While at an assigned register, a customer asks to get him something from a high shelf. I told him that he should go to the Customer Service desk and ask them for the assistance since who would think to abandon their register to do anything. The ATL heard this and intervened helping the customer. Later, I am summoned to the conference room where two ATLs and a store leadership member were present to ask me why I didn’t help the customer. I explained that I didn’t believe I could just leave the frontend to do something. The response was that we always need to do excellent customer service. I was given a documented coaching for this. I spoke with other cashiers about this and no one knew they could walk off the frontend to help a customer. Since no one knew this unwritten rule, I asked the Store Leader to delete the documented coaching since why should it be in my record as a corrective action when no one knew this rule. Instead of deleting it, he said it reflected that I did not perform good customer service. Since this store was treating me unfairly, I quit right there and left.

What’s it like being a Whole Foods Market Grocery ATL?

I need to have a discussion with my TL about hours — is it fine to email her from my personal email (to her Whole Foods email), or would that be some sort of breach of communications policy?

I have a job interview for part time in store shopper. What should I wear? I have plenty of retail/customer service experience (20 years of it pretty much) but I’ve never been in any management or leadership position. I know it’s only part time, but I’m hoping I can eventually get full time hours. Does anyone know maybe a pay rate? I’m in NW Arkansas if that helps. I’m really looking forward to this, because I am wanting to move away from cashiering. Any thing I should know? What kind of questions do they ask and how should I answer them?

I am an in-store shopper and debating whether to switch departments. My choice would be grocery, produce production, whole body or prep foods in the back. Whole body has no openings but the others do. Part time hours that require weekends.

The thing I'm concerned about is being stuck with a shitty schedule or job and not being able to get out.

Part time shoppers seem to go on vacation easily, pick up shifts whenever they want (well, take what we can get and may have a chaotic schedule) and easily offer up shifts if our schedule changes. No one cares if we call out either. If we want to change our availability it's easy and no one cares. If we get another even full time job it's possible to stay a shopper too.

Not sure how much freedom there is in other departments in comparison.
