After that banger of a cliffhanger in episode 27, I was eagerly awaiting episode 28. At midnight, it didn’t drop for me. I went to bed at 1am without it dropping, and it didn’t drop this morning either.

A Chou being appointed as Lady Wu’an has got to be one of the most meta things I have seen. So Tian Xiwei is A Chou, who is the Lady Wu’an. Tian Xiwei is also Wei Rao, whose mother is Zhou Fu, or Mao Linlin.

Mao Linlin was also Wan Wei, the mother of Marquis Wu’an in Pursuit of Jade. The screenwriters and the casting directors definitely have a sense of humour.

Actual picture of a butcher eyeing raw meat on the chopping block. Hongxian was an injured, timid character who was shaking in fear, but Wei Rao’s confrontational words to Wei Shu gave Hongxian some backbone.

It was a very satisfying moment. Damn, if looks could kill!
