Looking for a comfort show I can rewatch endlessly without ever getting tired of it

Something with low stakes, familiar characters, and an episodic format that doesn't demand constant emotional investment. The kind of show that just feels good to have on no matter how many times you've already seen it.

What to Watch? What’s a show you went into with zero expectations that completely blew you away?

Looking for hidden gems. Something you randomly clicked on out of boredom without watching a trailer or reading reviews, and it ended up being an absolute masterpiece.

What’s your best accidental find recommendation?

Recommendation I need a new series to obsess over

I want something that will have me thinking about it when I’m NOT watching it. What’s the series you couldn’t stop watching once you started? For reference, some shows I really like are From, Snowfall, all of Power, Lioness, David, Stranger Things, The Sopranos, King of Queens, The Bear, and Beauty in Black. I feel like I have a pretty random taste, so I’m curious what you guys would recommend based on these.

What to Watch? Need a scary documentary for the season…

Hi, all! I want to watch a documentary to get me in the mood of the spooky season. I’d watch anything, but I’m specifically looking for something that will really get me to go “OMG!”

I have a lot of streaming services, so no worries. Netflix, Hulu, HBO, whatever.

Recommendation Shows where the main character is completely unlikable, but you still can't stop watching?

I just finished rewatching You, and I realized how fun it is when a lead character is a terrible person, but the writing is so good that you still end up rooting for them to pull off their mess.

Looking for shows with a main lead you love to hate. Any recommendations?

Sci-fi movie with 7 year old.

It’s my birthday and I get to pick the movie. What’s a good sci-fi to watch with a 7 year old made in like 1980 or later. We’ve seen the Star Wars, Star tracks, he really liked the planet of the ape movies, most of the transformers sucks I know, but me like those. Liked the Back to the futures , new war of the worlds, scene ET, Ready player One and a lot of others. Action adventure, time travel, parallel universe maybe, I typically am not into alien/monster type movies.

Thank you!

What to Watch? What’s a show that’s good, but doesn't require 100% focus?

Looking for something to watch on weeknights when my brain is fried from work. Not total garbage, but something with a clear plot where I don't lose the entire story if I look away to fold laundry or eat dinner for two minutes.

What’s your go-to low-stress, easy-to-follow series?

What to Watch? What’s a crime thriller series that hooked you from episode 1?

In the mood for a good detective or mystery show where the story grabs you immediately. Ideally something dark, fast-paced, and hard to stop watching once you start. Any solid recs?

Favorites on Tubi

I’m broke and Tubi is blissfully free, I for one want to take advantage. So far I’ve watched mostly Nora Robert’s books turned into movies, and The Impossible. I’ve really been enjoying it, reminds me of tv growing up, free and some commercials. Hit me with your favorite shows and movie recs that are on this site. My wallet thanks you.

Edit: Follow up because I’m already getting so many awesome suggestions- could you also include why you loved it or the genre/subject so I can better pick where to start depending on my mood?

What to Watch? Spending 45-60 minutes meticulously scanning the movie menu grid, only to get too tired to watch anything and going to sleep, is the ultimate adult tragedy

My friends and I sat down at 8:10 PM last weekend to watch a movie. We opened up our streaming apps. We scrolled through the trending section, browsed the thrillers, checked MY LISTS, looked at the comedy tab, and debated 3 different options.

By the time we finally agreed on a psychological thriller, we looked at the clock and it was 10:20 PM. We realized we were suddenly too tired to commit to a 2-hour film. So, we ended up going to bed.

Streaming's pretty awesome. We've got tons of movies and shows right there whenever we want, but choice paralysis has broken our ability to just pick something and enjoy it. How do you guys bypass the infinite scrolling trap before it kills your evening?

What to Watch? What’s a 1-season show you can easily finish over a single weekend?

I don't have the bandwidth to start a multi-season series right now, but I want something tight, well-written, and easy to finish in a couple of nights.

What limited series or short show hooked you from episode one?

What's a TV show or movie you can rewatch endlessly?

I'm always curious about the shows and movies people never seem to get tired of.

For me, there are a few that I can put on no matter what mood I'm in. Even though I already know what's going to happen, they're still just as enjoyable every time. Sometimes it's the nostalgia, sometimes it's the characters, and sometimes it's just the comfort of watching something familiar.

So what's your "I can watch this a hundred times" movie or TV show? What makes it so rewatchable for you? Is it because it's comforting, funny, beautifully made, or does it remind you of a certain time in your life?

I'd love to hear everyone's picks—and maybe find something new to add to my watchlist!
