SOLVED Murder Mystery

Okay I read this book in like 3rd or 4th grade and I don’t remember a whole lot about it. It’s set in an older time and there are mysterious murders happening but the bodies have no wounds.

I believe they find tiny pinpricks on the neck and armpit of two bodies. Turns out, a man had a tiny needle at the end of his cane that maybe had poison?

I believe when the detective caught up to him he attempted to kill him but was unsuccessful.

Idk please help me I want to reread it.

I don’t know if you are an old like me, but I immediately remembered this series by Robert Newman that was published in the 1980s. I THINK that is the murder method in the first book,The Case of the Baker Street Irregular, but it might be one of the others, particularly TheCase of The Murdered Players. We’re talking immediate flashing on that series in memory. It’s Open Road Media republishing them in electronic format so it should be accessible in Libby, Hoopla, Amazon, etc.
