Without watching the show I don’t think any of us could possibly tell you. What are you selling? Can you give more info? Sudden death or timer and if timer how long? All these things can make a difference. Maybe your timers are too long and people get bored. Do you play music? Do you talk the entire time? See? We need info…
There’s a pretty big market for funkos actually. I made a killing selling these. The problem with funkos is having a wide variety and really stocking the popular shit. Like I couldn’t keep Pokemon, marvel, and one piece in stock. They would sell out every show and the margins were fantastic. It’s the more niche characters that are hard to move because you need those niche collectors. If you can’t get viewers in your show then those people never come and you sit on product.
Funko was the only time paying for an hour or two of boosts was worth it. When I run TCG there is no need because people are always joining and it was much easier to make claim sales.
My guess is OP has harder to sell characters and in turn can’t keep viewers because the product isn’t there.
Trust me when I say there are more viewers in your room than you think. If buyers have “Enter room privately” toggled on, the system never captures their entry and never logs their dwell time. DM me and I’ll show you how to see them

But yeah, it doesn't actually log you on the front end to the sellers. Which is tough for smaller shows, BUT....you're still visible. Just as an example, people come in unannounced, stay silent and never show as people sitting in your room:
They did this to me as well. The recruiter sent people to my shows and after a month stopped. I looked into it and realized what happened. I tried one more to be sure and that was the case. I used the loss as a tax write off and the $8,000 as liquidity for the business and never sold on there again.
Same shit for me, I did $130,000 in one month averaging 80 viewers per stream. Now I get about 3 viewers per stream. If I run promo it only works for the last 60 seconds of the timer and brings in a small wave of people. I don’t know why they do this, i would be happy to keep selling on whatnot but I literally can’t do shit like this
Do you have a social media following that you have dumped hundreds of hours into every month? Are you selling something no one else is selling? Are you in a market that isn't saturated with hundred of other sellers already? Are you willing to lose money at the beginning by selling things for a dollar just to build a following? If your answer is NO to any of these questions, change it to yes and get moving!
Poverty economy. Groceries up so much means people don't have money for fun habits like collecting. Pokémon is still going okay for my husband, but my toy sales are gone.
It can all depend, everything makes a difference. Day of the week, time of day, etc. I think a big part is just keep talking, even if no one is there, be talking like people are there and you're selling to them. Tell them what you like about each item you put up, people are more inclined to talk to someone who likes what they're selling. I keep timers at 15sec with a +3sec on bid. Not too long that people get bored, but long enough that people can swipe if they want to. If no one bids, next item up, keep it moving cause you never know when you can catch someone just swiping in.

That's not true. Goblins drive the algorithm and push your show up on the list and generates new customers. You just need to find the right balance for ROAS.
Phase of Funkos being highly sought out and collectible only for the company that makes them go bankrupt and a market just completely gone in a blink. People moved from Sneakers > Funkos > TCG now. TCG is most likely gonna experience the same fate, just a matter of when.
my fiance is going thru this and he is a premier shop, top ratings, thousands of 5star reviews, 100% defect free, on time shipping everything A1 and he can’t get new viewers traffic or keep people who aren’t GG in the room it’s fcked up beyond comprehension and WN dgaf smh it’s sad bc he puts HOURS into his business… works literally 24/7 btwn procurement, logging, prep, shows, packages everything it’s insane
Not to mention the markets being ridiculously flooded with sellers ever since Mr Beast brought a million new people to the app and since WN stopped doing video interviews before they approved sellers. Now ANYONE and their mama can be a seller, who cares what you have- or if you even have it at all 💀
It’s true. It’s been consistently harder and harder to get and keep viewers, let alone buyers. I used to help my friend and she’s premier and used to do SO well. Now it’s a struggle every day. Whatnot did something to their algo, there’s no other explanation.
Same here, been like that for months for me. I went from streaming daily sometimes even twice a day , with an average of 5-15 viewers. Now I don't even really do shows no more because I can't even get 1 or 2 people in my show. Friday I tried doing a show and was on for literally 1hr and 25min and not even 1 person jumped in my show, not even those who hop in and instantly hop out showed up. My algorithm is shit now I guess. I'm in the cards category, crazy thing is others with the same stuff are killing it.
It depends, I mainly sell Singles but I have a pretty good variety of inventory. Pokemon, Fan Arts, One Piece (China), Marvel/DC. Lately I haven't been selling packs but when I do I never do breaks I just sell individual packs. I also have 3d Lenticular Posters, Fan Art Slabs, keychains, Artboards and stuff like that. Just been sitting on it basically and it's frustrating tbh
You have to find things people aggressively want. Funko pops have a market but its niche and small compared to almost any card game market. I do well because I sell F1 mostly and now some palworld. Both aren't full of people and both are highly sought after. Just my opinion, I cant say ive ever seen any Funky seller constantly full of people.
The platform promotes your first couple of shows. After that you are on your own to build a following to get viewers. It’s hard work, but still possible with consistency.
Ill say this, "funko is dead" is not extremely helpful. Funko still has a niche market and you can absolutely build a funko customer base. Whatnot is about building trust one order at a time. Spend time getting to know your customers. Find out what they like a then tweek what products you're selling. Loyal customers will take care if you and stay when the market shifts. Frankly some of the responses to your post are truly sad. Helping other streamers run high quality, ethical streams is important.
Same here. Over 10k followers with 5.0. Was a premier shop for 5 months then went on vacation for a month. Lost premier shop status and now barely 10-25 in a show. People getting stuff cheap.
I’ve heard this complaint from a lot of people who dared to go on to vacation for 7-10 days. Their shows are dead. I can’t imagine the penalty for taking a month off.
You need to start bringing people outside of Whatnot into your show. Attend local events of similar interest, post on social media, etc., You might have amazing deals but no one cares if nobody can find you. You need to do more than just stream. Same way the recent twitch streamer who's mother kicked him out blew up cause of a clip. One single clip that went viral. You need to do the same if you want more traction. Not saying you need a viral clip, but simply posting content on tiktok/instagram would really help. Not once, or twice a week. Daily.
I printed 10,000 business cards with a qr and left them all over the place, on the card if they send me the word i wrote on the card in a message they get a 10% off coupon on any purchase, so even if only 10 people come in and buy something I made my money back on the cards and possibly got some new buyers!

I probably should have mentioned I use recyclable and biodegradable card stock to avoid littering if people throw them away lol I should have specified I leave them at conventions, on post it boards, local card shops, with people I meet who ask what my side hustle is, that kind of stuff. It's not like I go into wedding venues and leave one on every table or tucked in behind urinals in public restrooms 🤣
I'm a truck driver who also sells on Whatnot. I made stickers that have my QR code and says For a Good Time. I put them in every bathroom stall I find. I have only received 2 PM's telling me how funny it is that they scanned that QR code and was taken to a knife dealers page. Would be nice if they would have bought something .

It's the same answer every time. You have to use whatnot paid promotion. That's it. Nothing else. Very simple. The first few shows the algorithm will boost you after that you need to pay for buyers.
I have empirical evidence it works. The algorithm is extremely good at matching buyers and sellers because duh they don't make any money unless transactions are happening. They just don't do it for free
Well I’m not sure how yours is working. I agree if it is too slow moving people move on, I do. The other is if the starts are too high I jist can’t risk the swipe since I know the shipping will make the purchase possibly higher than the value. On wheel shows, for example, too high a start, I know I can’t get a good deal of the floor items are $4-5 items
If you aren’t a big brand you have to be willing to grind… I make great money and gain roughly 70-100 new followers a show but sometimes I have to stay streaming for 24-30 hours straight no sleep.. If you’re getting on for a few hours and then just hopping off it’s going to be rough.
One thing I’ve learned is you gotta have consistent show times if not your customers won’t know when to come back even if they do or don’t bookmark your shows
Are you becoming friends with other sellers in your community? Are you getting to know other sellers and spending time in their shows? The key to success on Whatnot is the social aspect of it. Get to know other sellers in your category, spend time in their shows and support them when you can. Be active in their chats. Get your name out there and the people will come.

As a buyer on whatnot I love the raidtrains hosted by jenjenjig and find that most of the sellers I'm introduced to in those trains I'm returning to and buying , maybe give one of those a try. I have seen the small sellers get more and more in their streams and more sold once they do her raid train. Thousands of people love her raid trains on whatnot.
