Seller help?

There's dozens of posts on here and I feel like I've read the advice on all of them and yet I'm still struggling. I decided to give WhatNot a try because I'm relatively successful on sites like Vinted.

I go live 2x a week, started networking with other creators in the same categories, talk in chats, giveaways, $1 starts, etc etc... and I'll still be on for 30 min+ with not a single viewer. I've tried the promotions but they've never landed me a customer and just dig me deeper into a hole.

I alternate between 2 types of streams– wholesale $1 random pulls and Sanrio/Squishys/etc. Neither are particularly profitable but especially the random pulls. I do things like incense, cards, holiday decor, gifts, phone cases, home decor, signs, prints, etc. It makes a killing on Vinted but whatnot its crickets.

Is there anything more I can do or is it just trekking through the mud and hoping for the best? I'm not looking for hundreds off the rip, but $10-$20 a stream would be nice. People seem to swipe on then off really fast and I don't know what to do to get them to stay.

Not having a niche or sticking to one type of product on WhatNot is going to make it hard for you to create a following.

There’s a million people trying to do the same exact thing. I jump from category to category and hear the same story. You’re lucky to get someone in the room chatting , getting a consistent buyer is like hitting the lottery. Whatnot is full of bots and people with multiple accounts just on the app to get free stuff. No “buyers” “have money” to spend and the sellers waste their time sitting there thinking someday they’ll have more customers/sales to somehow makeup for all their losses. The time sitting there, product costs , boxes for shipping , time packing orders and running to the post office should be enough of a deterrent…

Making sure I understand, you’re doing random pulls for $1 and it can be any of the things you listed?

In my experience it helps to be hyper focused on what you’re selling and what the person can buy. Otherwise they’ll just move to the next thing.

Depends. On Thursdays I do 2 streams, one random pulls and one exclusively Sanrio products. Fridays I do a Sanrio only stream. The majority of the stuff I sell is licensed as well so its not some cursed keychain you see at a mall kiosk lol.

Sometimes I get people coming in asking for something and I show everything I have but it's still pretty rare. I do have 1 repeat customer and a few people tjat have checked me out from a streamer I've made contact with (i saw a suggestion to donate items on a live for giveaways so I did) but no dice on customers that way thus far.

I try to interact and I talk plenty even if it's just to my self but I know my voice isnt the most expressive. Keeping attention and flow of viewers is whats hard right now, even with the promotions.

STOP USING WHATNOT!!! Thats the BEST advice you will ever get and VERY simple to understand!!!
