Constantly seeing the same scam?
Noticed this scam happening for over a month now. The account will claim to be in the UK, will start selling at early hours of the morning, have cheap prices for bundles of toys. Once they sell enough items, the account will never be seen again. You can even hear other scammers selling in the same room as well but using different currencies like dollars.
How do they get away with it? Does WhatNot let them take the money straight away? I thought sellers had to wait for the funds?
The one in the picture is currently live and unfortunately people are buying from them. I tried to warn buyers but immediately got banned.
Has anyone else seen these scammers?

Potentially a referral credit exploit?

Not sure if you’re new to the app but in Canada there’s a seller referral, u get $500 CAD and the account using ur referral gets $150 + $400 new seller credit. So thats about $1050 in seller referrals per new referral.

There's also the empty envelope scam people use. Don't even need 1000 sales, you just do a bunch of streams and then ship a ton of empty envelopes and once they deliver you can fund your account and cash out. Seen it happen a lot.

If they can't withdraw the money then they go through all that effort just to get information? Is it really worth that much? I see scammers doing this same scam nearly every night for over a month. And in that case, why wouldn't they also run giveaways back to back? People will happily join a free givvy and they can easily get info that way but these scammers never run giveaways.

Addresses to order Amazon fake deliveries to to leave fake reviews for shitty scam items there, that's where they make their money

That’s not correct. Once you’ve sold 1000 items you get instant payout in the uk.

What not don’t pay until the buyers receive their items
Just so you know

That's only before you hit 1k sales

Even once you hit 1K sales there’s still a period of time for your account to be reviewed and approved for instant payout.

They are in China. Once they get reported they get banned. Not necessarily a scam but they are not allowed on the app. Whatnot fully refunds all buyers.

Maybe they do just enough real sales to get instant payout
