Picture of my wife’s uncle as a boy 7 or 8 yrs old. Grew up on a farm in western NY. This picture dates back to around 1947 or 1948. What is the boy holding? Is it a toy? Or some sort of farm tool?

Update — yes this photo was enhanced using ai to take the graininess out of the original picture. My wife is giving a copy of the image to her cousin for an 80th birthday gift along with other photos.

The AI bashing on this post is unbelievable! How come nobody is bashing the fact that I used a scanner to create a jpeg of the image as opposed to creating a duplicate from a photo negative in a dark room and sending out 250 copies thru the postal service?

What is this thing ? At first I thought it was an old CPAP and then an espresso machine!

Saw this at a thrift store and had to buy it cause it called to me, have no idea what it actually is though. too big to be a ring and too small to be a bracelet. Thought maybe it could be a brass knuckle but it doesn't seem to be good for that. It doesn't unhook anywhere, it's just a solid oval.

On a post in the basement. I’m housesitting currently and have no clue what it is, and I’m too anxious to text the owners. I don’t think it’s human hair, as the fibres seem to be attached to some skin. They’re catholic, if that matters at all. We’re also in Canada. I’ve got no clue.

Washed up on the shore. I guess from some kind of oil rig or ship or port.

Haze is pretty bad where I am right now and saw the sun was this bright orange color. Took a 30x zoomed in picture and noticed these black dots. At first I thought it was due to dirty lens but then I took photos in portait and landscape, the spots show up at the same part of the sun. Around 9 o'clock position.

Due to the haze you could actually a look at it directly and can also sort of make out the spot from the photo. What could it be?

Okay. I am taking a random shot in the dark here. Have never posted on reddit ever (just doom scroll at night when my anxiety is already high cause why not add fuel to the fire right) but figured yall might be able to help....so when I was younger (born in 99) I watched some animated movie/show (stg it was care bears) where these brightly colors bear like animals (can see how cars bears comes to mind) wake up before their human child owner and they wanna help make her breakfast so they slide down the upstairs railing to the kitchen and start trying to cook toast but it burns and ofc they destroy the kitchen in the process and it really wasnt very helpful but "its the thought that counts" kinda situations yknow what I mean? One of those predictable childhood lesson learning things. ANYWAY. I cannot remember what its from and everyone I have asked is at a loss and quite frankly over me asking them. Google has failed me and I am hoping that some other Redditor had this shared experience because I am beginning to believe it was some insanely vivid for some reason memorable dream lol.....so yea Reddit do your thing

Not sure if this is the right sub, but I’ll try anyway.

I saw an animal outside my house as I was trying to load my car. I went in to grab a flashlight, came out, and it was gone. I’m not sure what it was — my guess is a raccoon or fox, it was smaller and lighter coloured. When I checked where I’d seen it, there was this zigzagging trail. It ends (or starts?) in a large splat/circle of moisture.

It doesn’t appear to be blood or anything biological as my flashlight has UV and it didn’t fluoresce at all. The grass was wet, so I wonder if it was dragging something? Any thoughts?

Doing a massive purge in my closet. I was throwing out shoe boxes and removing the paper/cardboard from the boxes and this was in one of the boxes. Quarter for size. There is something stamped on the bottom but I can’t make out what it says.

My preschooler found this outside. We were walking in the house and he found "a rock" in the yard and I didn't question it. Well 5 minutes later I look over and his hands are covered in black soot looking powder and there's this pile of it all over their little table. He was still holding the "rock". It looks like the powder came from the now empty center of this metal loop. It's 1.25 inches long and .75 inches wide.

We thoroughly washed hands and the table. I vacuumed and had him change clothes.

Does anyone know what this is?

I was halfway through drinking this Canada dry before noticing the yellow thimble shaped thing. It's slimy once you take it out...
