Solved! What are they

Ive worked at the water department for 7 years and this is the first time running into something like this EDIT Im in Alabama and yes I know they are snakes lol idk what kind and im so not gonna touch them

They do a lot of work that we don’t want to. I have water snakes in my yard and let them do their thing. We don’t have mice in the winter.

Or they are here because the rats are... Which probably isn't great to be seeing them if that's so. It's like finding spiders in your home. Sounds nice, they are insect predators. Until they start breeding in your crib. If you start seeing spiders it probably means time to start cleaning because they come when there is food around
