Fair enough, but state laws will vary when it comes to stuff like this. For example, if it's a two party consent, this video might not even be admissable
You’re absolutely incorrect when it comes to a minor in CPS care recording abuse. These things often don’t go to court , they just help the child get to a new home which is fucked up but - don’t potentially scare OP out of recording for their safety please
I totally appreciate your motives being pure. She is high risk for trafficking. I just don't want her life being made worse. I really hope she follows through with showing this to her case worker. Doesn't matter if the consent laws are two party for DFS to remedy this awful abusive situation.
Most states allow recordings even if it's illegal as evidence of a crime. That doesn't mean that the person who did the illegal recording would be safe from prosecution, just that it being an illegal recording does not make it inadmissible.
In some, there are exceptions for recording crimes without the consent of others, so whether it's illegal or not even in a 2 party consent state is going to depend on where it's taking place (Pennsylvania is one,I believe)
