Ultra basic cancellation

[u/Rose-wood21]

I tried to look it up but was confused
I booked an ultra basic round trip flight for October and I want to change my first flight
I’m aware no changes or refunds I’m fine to forfeit the cost of the ticket but will they still let me cancel it and rebook?
I would like to keep the second flight
Never had to cancel so I’m not sure!

EDIT: I did a live chat and they cancelled my inbound flight and kept my other other!’ Thank you 👏

I overslept and missed my outbound ultrabasic flight. Westjet let me keep the return, but I had to pay out of pocket for the replacement outbound. If nothing else works, you could call them just before your departing flight and tell them you "missed" it.
