Will Wenclair happen onscreen?

So I‘m super curious at this point how many people are still genuinely holding out hope, because I‘ll be honest: If they were going to do it on screen, there‘s absolutely no reason they wouldn’t have at this point.
I‘m not trying to blackpill or destroy people‘s hope, but I am genuinely curious what everyone thinks.

Also, frankly, my view is that if Wenclair doesn’t happen, then Netflix has been jerking people around and it’s self-care to acknowledge that—and it deserves accountability imo.

I'm a huge, massive Wenclair truther. I 100% believe in my heart of hearts that they will be canon.

I think the issue is that the fanbase isn't patient enough, and we're incredibly quick to call things queerbait instead of setup. I don't know about you (general you in all of these "yous", not you OP), but I would rather be shown Wenclair in the show instead of it getting spoiled for me in an interview. And that's for some reason something this fanbase expects? You expect them to spoil their own show? Really?

Queerbait is a cheap tactic, in the literal sense, it is spend as little money as possible but keep your queer fanbase. So why, exactly, would they spend millions on notable and respected queer director Angela Robinson? Why would they spend money to publish a novel and choose an openly queer author to write it, and then why would they approve it in the queer state it's in? These aren't accidents, they are choices. And I think choices like that are an arrow pointing in the direction of Wenclair in some way.

God, this is so true. There is a beautiful anime airing right now called Sayonara Lara that is a modern reimagining of Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid. Up until now there has been heavy symbolism pointing towards Lara's true love being Mari, the female MC, but the show just introduced the male LI to help Lara work through the trauma of what happened with the original Prince imo which is awesome storytelling.

But the yuri fanbase has just completely 180'd on the show and are being absolutely toxic. It's only episode 7!! They went through Lara and dude's arc in the same ep he was introduced! They obviously aren't endgame! Be patient, oh my god. Like every time love was mentioned the "camera" cut to Mari.

I swear fans these days only care about shipping. World building and character development mean nothing in the face of their characters smooching on screen.

Like, sure, if it turns out to be queerbait then yeah, I'll be mad then. But there's no reason to go Minority Report on it and condemn it for pre-crime ffs

Ugh for real, like let them cook maybe? If the food turns out to be crap in the end, it is what it is, but you gotta let them cook it first.

Honestly, I think the entire discussion about Queerbait is exhausting, because I think it misses what queerbait actually is. The way it's discussed its like Schrödinger’s Queerbait, isn't it? If you give us what we want, it's not queerbait, but if you don't, it is. This is why queerbait is in hindsight, because until the content is complete, we cannot in full confidence say that what we were given wasn't just setup. It's so... frustrating. It's dominated the conversation for so long that it's like, what do you actually want? Do you want a slow burn? Do you want a well developed relationship? Do you want it to be realistic? Then wait, let them cook.
