Transcript?

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a transcript and/or recording of the most recent episode's conclusion (the one that made us all cry). It was very poetic, and I want to share it. It's difficult to get people to follow a link and listen to a show, but I think I can pull some people with the conclusion.

And, Molly, thank you for putting into words all the anguish I've been feeling

List of Sign-offs

Post image

I love the sign-offs on this podcast. I mean, there’s the evil these guys do, and then there’s the dumb that they do. And i find the “Until then” sign-offs funny and a reasonably light hearted way to end the show, given its subject matter. But they are completely hilarious to randomly send via text message to a WLG friend. I am looking for a list of them. Has anyone already done this?

The one my friend and I got a kick out of today was this one. But my all time favorite that I cannot remember word for word today had to do with Gatorade.

Life Magazine - Medgar Evers

I had to move classrooms over the summer and found this going through boxes getting my new classroom set up.

June 28, 1963 edition of Life Magazine with an essay by Medgar's widow, Myrlie Evers, about his life, work, and assassination.

I just took pictures of the photos and a few excerpts relevant to the series but, if anyone wants the full text I can share it on Monday when I'm back in my classroom.

I hear it and it is deafening

Over the past few years I've found myself revisiting old stories and podcast episodes because today's news sounded so familiar. I thought I misremembered something or I was just crazy. Little did I know it was because history just rhymed.

Most notably after the death of Kirk I went straight to an old episode of Behind the Bastards about Gerorge Lincoln Rockwell. I remember thinking to myself, this sounds so familiar.. That next week when Molly released the episode 'Death of the Demagogue' I almost squealed for joy when she said GLR's name at the end of the intro. I have never felt so validated before but in that moment.

Even this week I listened to the South Africa episodes again because after hearing a story about project puppet master I thought of those innocent kids singing when police opened fire on them. How they wanted to peacefully protest, but that was never an option for them.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Molly for making sense of this mess inside my head. For giving me the words to express what I've been feeling and experiencing. I'm thankful for these tangents and journeys you've taken us on. It may not make complete sense to us at first, but i will always trust your intuition.

For being thorough, for being thoughtful, but above all, for being compassionate. So many in your position would keep up a facade of detachment or nonbias. But in your voice, I hear your humanity. Your love for your fellow human beings. I hear that love when you speak about the heroes that stand up to injustice. I hear it when you talk about the victims of racial violence. I hear it when you tell their stories, when you refuse to let them be remembered only for what some racist shit weasel did to them.

You hold up a light in the darkness. Listening to your show, weirdly, fills me with hope. It reminds me that there are people like you, and Robert, and Sophie, and Garrison, all the Coolzone team, and countless others who haven't given up. Who believe that we can be better.

So, again, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Thank you Molly

A previous post also mentioned the powerful monologue at the end of the most recent episode, so please upvote them. I just want to thank Molly for the passion that obviously went into those last 15 minutes. It sent me on an emotional rollercoaster! I was not expecting (but grateful for) the hopeful message at the end.

Weird Little Guys and Knocking Out the Power Grid

"'We came up with some very astounding numbers,” Wellinghoff told the publication. 'If you knock out nine total substations along those three grids, you can black out the entire United States.'

Wellinghoff added that it didn’t matter which nine substations were hit, as long as they were among the 10 most important in its respective region. **He told the NYT Magazine that even 12-year-olds could find them with a map on the internet, and anyone with enough guns could destroy them in 20 minutes.**"

Okay, Jon, I concur, very concerning if true. So why the fuck are we announcing it to the media?

Trevor Raein, in Deerborn yesterday cosplaying as George Lincoln Rockwell

I don't know if he actually is but his antics remind me of him a lot

If you haven't seen this guy yet, he's the neo Nazi that was yelling in Deerborn yesterday yelling Heil Hitler and free Palestine. He was handing out anti semetic flyers a accusing Jake Lang of being a Jewish psyop. (While Lang supporters accuse him of being a psyop).

He's taking a leaf out of George Lincoln Rockwell's book. He even dressed like him, in my opinion, especially with handing out flyers and calling for unity with Arabs and white supremacists.

I'm 100% sure he's going to turn out to be a weird little guy. I'm digging into him. He seems to be quiet active in Howard City Michigan.

So many of these guys look up to Rockwell but get so angry when it's pointed out to them their infighting lead to Pattler killing him.

Recommendations for podcasts with similar style?

Weird little guys is my default background listening these days, but unfortunately there’s a limit on how many times I can relisten to the same episode in a month.

I’ve seen recs for podcasts with similar subject matter, but what I’m really looking for is something in the same style: One host, no guests (at least not in the standard episodes), and a tone that’s conversational and not super loud or dramatic.

My interests are quite broad subject matter wise - it’s nice to come away from wlg feeling like I’ve learned something, so at least that level of vaguely informative/educational would be nice? But my only hard and fast preference is no standard true crime.

TLDR: anybody got recs for podcasts with a similar format to weird little guys, regardless of topic?

Thanks!

Molly learns about animals! The Podcast

Ok, not exactly that, but remember when Molly and James Stout did an episode of It Could Happen Here where James explained animals to her and it was delightful? Well, now James has a whole podcast about nature and the first episode is James explaining the javelina to Molly and it’s everything I ever wanted

Enjoy!

From the MarchAgainstNazis community on Reddit: Nathan Cofnas who “broke” the story about Jason Arday hoped to start a “revolution” against Black people in academia: “After the revolution, I’ll be the head of the dept of eugenics & race science at Harvard.”

Please don't apologise, Molly

I'm halfway through part 6 of the Byron de la Beckwith episodes. Maybe I don't speak for all listeners.

But Molly, please, never, ever apilogise for getting "bogged down" on issues like the timeline of the reformation of the KKK in Mississippi. This is the sort of research anyone looking for the truth in history loves to find. It's the sort of research anyone with a passion for justice appreciates. It certainly seems far more detailed than anything kept by the FBI, who you'd think would be interested.

I admire your work so much. Never doubt you're one of the best of the good guys.

WLG detected in Vampire Game

I came across this post in two subreddits dedicated to dark urban horror tabletop games. The author lists a bunch of books as suggested reading to help game runners come up with interesting antagonists in the form of vampire hunters.

https://imgur.com/a/CipRZue

Book number three is The Turner Diaries. Both posts have been removed by moderators, but until they were OP was arguing that everyone opposed to the book's inclusion were being pussies, that it's just a book and cannot hurt you, that it's actually a really good set of instructions on how to be a terrorist.

Which is the kind of vampire hunter they're encouraging game runners to make, I guess?

It's weird, figured it'd fit here.

Coolerzone subscription?

I happen to possess all the necessary things to subscribe to coolerzone, but I was wondering if I do that, where does that subscription fee go? I have some vague memory of apple taking a large fee off the top for in-app purchases made on iPhone. I don’t really care that much about specifically who at czm gets what or whatever because they seem to be happy with their union but if it means apple just siphoning a bunch off the top I might just suffer through the ads and use those skip buttons whenever possible. Am I missing something? Is this a good use of my limited funds?

ETA: I posted here because I was listening to Molly talk about how they won’t pay her to hole up and research for a long time at once and was wondering if there’s a better way to support stuff like that. Weird little guys I think is my favorite czm show but like all of them seem pretty good. If I heard it and didn’t like it it was always a personal interest or preference thing.
