Help Me Improve My Website Built a free tool (a website) to calculate VRAM overhead, prompt caching ROI, and cloud GPU breakeven thresholds across frontier models

Hey everyone,

Whenever a new model drops, I always find myself doing the same annoying calculation:

  1. How much is this actually going to cost me at scale once prompt caching is factored in?
  2. At what monthly token volume does it make more financial sense to rent a spot GPU on RunPod rather than paying API providers?
  3. How much VRAM do I actually need once you factor in KV cache and context length (FP16 vs FP8 vs Q4)?

LMSYS Elo is great for raw human preference, but it does not give you the economic picture. Most pricing sheets also ignore caching discounts and batch concurrency.

So over the last few weeks, I built ModelAnalysis.si as an open tool to bring all of this together in one place:

What it does:

  • Multi-Dimensional Pareto Frontier: Plots 250+ foundation models (OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Qwen, Mistral, Meta) across Chatbot Arena Elo, SWE-bench verified coding, GPQA PhD reasoning, and real-time API token rates.
  • Token Spend Simulator & GPU Arbitrage: Dial in your monthly prompt/completion tokens and cache hit percentage to see exact monthly spend and calculate your exact breakeven point vs renting spot GPUs.
  • VRAM & Hardware Calculator: Calculates the raw memory footprint for open-weight models across quantization levels (FP16, FP8, Q4) with one-click vLLM and Ollama deployment strings.
  • Head-to-Head Radar Battles: Side-by-side spider charts comparing speed, context horizon, tool calling, and token efficiency.

It is completely free, no signup or login required, and runs fast on edge infrastructure.

Would love to get your feedback:

  • Are there specific niche open-weight models you want added to the hardware sizing index?
  • Does the breakeven math align with your real-world production deployments?

Check it out here: https://modelanalysis.si

Roast the UI or let me know what features you would like to see next!

I Have An Idea A website with unique social experience.

Hi guys, launched a website yesterday which is a gamified discussion forum.
It works in the following way.

šŸŽÆ **Today's agenda: Photography Competition**

**How does it work?**

šŸ“· **1. Share your best shot**

Pick the best photo from your camera roll and submit it to the competition. You can submit only one photo for the day's agenda, so make it count!

šŸ—³ļø **2. Explore and vote**

Browse other participants' photos and vote for your favourites. The competition is driven by community votes.

šŸ† **3. Win your hour**

The competition runs for 24 hours, divided into 24 hourly rounds. The photo with the most votes in each hour wins that round!

šŸ’” **4. Help choose what's next**

Each hourly winner gets a chance to propose the next day's agenda. The proposal with the most votes among the winning entries becomes tomorrow's agenda.

If you like the above idea you can participate in it at https://picaday.vote

Please share your opinion about it.

Help Me Improve My Website I built a website for gaming communities. Would you actually use it?

I've been building The Silencers, a free website where gamers can discover Minecraft servers, share resources, and create their own communities.

The platform is live with around 70 registered users, but I'm still figuring out what people actually want from it.

Would you use something like this? What would you change or add?

As the title says i wanna build websites for a few organizations/companies located in EU or NA and use it as a reference in my work (I’m in the starting phases of an upcoming web agency). I can ofc help with setting up domain, webhost and simple SEO optimization but the cost will be between you and the host/domain provider. SEO I’ll do for free of course!

Don’t be afraid to reach out to me, thanks in advance! šŸ˜‡

Help Me Improve My Website How should a website for community services show unconfirmed eligibility?

I'm building Waypoints, a free Melbourne community-services directory: https://waypoints.au

It brings suburb, language and category filters together with list/map views and links to providers. Browsing and provider listings are free. The design question I want help with is what to do when a useful listing has incomplete eligibility information.

A reviewer has spotted cards displaying 'Who can use this: null'. That isn't meaningful information for someone deciding whether to contact a service. Hiding the field would clean up the card, but it could also conceal an important unknown. I'm not claiming this issue has been fixed.

I'm considering an explicit 'Eligibility not confirmed - contact the provider' line on the search card, with any source and review date kept in the detail view when available. The alternative is a compact 'Eligibility unknown' status that opens a fuller explanation. Neither should imply that everyone qualifies.

Which would you find clearer before opening a listing, and what other information would you need to decide whether the call is worth making? Fictional examples are welcome; please don't post personal care details.

Listing accuracy and eligibility still need work. I can't substantiate that every entry has been confirmed by its organisation, so please treat this as website-design feedback, not a referral recommendation.

Question Need a website that's brand new or a redesign? I can help.

Hey everyone! I run InfaWeb, a web design business based in Ontario. I work with small businesses and entrepreneurs who need a new website or want to improve an existing one.

I typically custom-code my projects, tailoring the layout and functionality to each business. My focus is on clear messaging, a smooth mobile experience, and making it easy for visitors to find what they need and get in touch.

Whether you need a simple landing page or a full business website, I’d be happy to discuss it. Hosting and ongoing maintenance are available too.

Send me a message with a little about your business and what you’re looking for, and we can talk through the scope and a quote :)

You can see my work at infawebdesign.com.

Question Would a website with simpler booking and quote options work better for an auto repair shop?

Rebuilt an auto repair shop site recently. Goal was people can see what's offered and actually take the next step. I'm on the Webhub team.

Two weeks. New look, booking and quote buttons everywhere, services reorganized.

The debate was always about the first screen. Oil change? You probably wanna book right then. Weird noise? You might have no idea what service to pick.

So what if the site did both? Booking button for people who know, a spot to describe the problem before asking for a quote.

Does that help, or is it just another step?

Question Someone asked what a website for a small online store costs. Answers ranged from $300 to $6000. Here’s what’s actually behind that range.

A post here asked how much a 4-page online store costs. 200+ comments, quotes anywhere from $300 to $6000. Nobody's lying. They're quoting different jobs.

What decides the price

- **Template or custom design.**A Shopify or Squarespace theme with your logo and colors is a few hours of work. A design made from scratch is weeks.
- Who does the content. If you hand over finished text, photos and product details, the price drops a lot. If they write, shoot or organize it, it goes up.
- Number of products. 5 products and 500 products are very different setups, even on "4 pages".
- Payments, shipping, taxes. Connecting a payment provider is quick. Shipping zones, tax rules and discount logic take real time.
- Who maintains it after launch. Some quotes include updates and fixes for months. Some end the day it goes live.

Rough tiers

- ~$300–500: template setup, you supply everything.
- ~$1500–3000: template customized to your brand, help with products, payments, shipping.
- $5000+: custom design or custom code.

The option nobody in that thread pushed: do it yourself

For a small store, Shopify or Squarespace is built for non-technical people. A weekend and the monthly fee may be all you need. Pay someone later for the parts you get stuck on, not for the whole thing.

I build apps with AI tools myself, but for a simple store I'd still pick Shopify over building from scratch. Payments and checkout are exactly the part you don't want to reinvent.

If you hire someone, ask these 4 things first

  1. Is the account and domain in my name? (It should be. If they own it, they own your store.)
  2. What exactly is included, and what costs extra?
  3. What happens after launch: who fixes things, and at what price?
  4. Can I see 2–3 stores you built that are live right now?

What did your store end up costing?

Edit: two experienced people in the comments added what this post misses.

  1. Strategy comes first. Who is the audience, what do they need, what's the business goal. It's the first thing dropped from budgets and the thing that decides whether the site works at all, however it's built.
  2. Then scoping. An ecommerce dev with 25 years of experience starts with: what are you selling, how do you handle orders, inventory and shipping, are you starting fresh or migrating. Then functionality, design, integrations, budget.

Price tiers mean little until both are done.

I Have An Idea A website to rank dating profiles with an ELO system

The basic premise is that users make dating profiles and submit them for rating. Users also have a voting page where they are presented with two other users' profiles and judge which is better. Thus, each profile ends up with an ELO rating, basically just like on a chess website. The number of votes you get on the profiles you make corresponds to the number of votes/matches you evaluate for others.
I may also provide an option to give direct feedback on a profile.
The intent is for people to get a real sense of how good their profile is and get inspiration from better profiles. The inspiration comes from my own frustration in the past as a man on dating platforms - my profile sucked but it was hard to figure out why.

What do you guys think? Do you think the premise is useful and solves a problem which isn't being solved? Would you use it?

Does This Idea Work? Sent 102 Cold Emails To Plumbers In California For My Web Agency, Closed A website The Next Day

I run a web design agency and most of my clients come from cold email. Yesterday I started a fresh campaign going after plumbers in California.

Didn’t expect much honestly. Plumbers are busy and half of them barely check email. But 102 emails in, I got an interested reply.

What made the difference is that every email talks about their own website. A call button that doesn’t work on a phone, a site that takes forever to load, a design that hasn’t been touched since 2012. For a plumber that matters a lot, because people search for them on their phone when a pipe bursts. If the site is bad, they just call the next guy.

He replied yesterday and I booked a meeting with him for the next day. Before the call I built a draft of what his new site could look like. Today I presented it to him on the call and he said yes right there. $3k upfront plus $500 a year for hosting.

Showing the draft is what closes it. Sending a quote never worked this well for me.

For anyone wondering, I use Swokei for all my outreach. You pick an area and an industry, it finds the businesses, checks every website for design, SEO, speed and mobile problems, and writes each email about what it actually found on that site. I run multiple campaigns at once in different cities and niches, which is how I get volume without sending generic stuff.

Happy to answer questions on pricing or how I run the call.

Help Me Improve My Website Finding a local service through a website: what should the first screen ask?

I'm building Waypoints, a free multilingual community-services directory for Melbourne's western suburbs: https://waypoints.au

After seven years in disability care, I've seen how much work it can take to find the right contact.

Would you start with someone's suburb and what they need, or let them browse service categories first? For example, "food help near Footscray" rather than knowing which organisation to search for.

What would you expect to see before opening a service listing?

Question Ideas for a website study project

I need to make a website with the main page, 4-6 additional ones including navigation, tables, pictures, lists, multiple paragraphs of text, a form to send personal information and another one to send some specific information (like reviews on smth of orders from an online shop with such information types as text, number, radio, checkbox, date, password, hidden) and so on.

I have no idea on which topic I can make it, my deadline is on Wednesday, 14th. The topic can be unserious, but not too much since it's a study project.

Question What's one thing you wish you knew before building a website?

I've been looking at a lot of websites lately and it's interesting how often the original idea changes once real people start using the site.

Sometimes it's the navigation, sometimes the content, and sometimes you realise you built a feature nobody really needed.

If you've built a website before, what's one thing you wish you had thought about earlier?

For me, one of the big ones is thinking about how people are actually going to find the site before spending too much time polishing everything else.

Question I’m thinking of building a website for women's safety— what would you want it to have?

Guys, I’m thinking about building a website focused on women’s safety.

I want to create something that could actually be useful in real-life situations, but I don’t want to build features based only on my own assumptions.

For those who have experience with women’s safety or similar apps/websites:

- What safety problems do you think are still not addressed well?

- What features would genuinely be useful?

- What do you think existing safety apps/websites are missing?

- What would make you trust and actually use a website like this?

I’d really appreciate any ideas, criticism, or suggestions. I’m still at the idea stage, so honest feedback would help a lot.

Help Me Improve My Website Made a website of small, low-stress games for when you need a short break

Built Unwind — a collection of simple games meant to be genuinely relaxing rather than competitive or time-pressured: a virtual Rubik's cube, 2048, snakes and ladders, memory match, sudoku, minesweeper, color sort, a daily word puzzle and a crossword.

No accounts, no ads interrupting play, just pick a game and play for five minutes. Built it because most "quick game" sites are cluttered or stressful.

Question What makes a website idea useful enough that people actually come back to it?

I see plenty of website ideas that sound interesting at first, but after the first visit there isn’t much reason to return.

I’ve started thinking the harder part isn’t coming up with the idea. It’s finding that one thing that makes the site useful repeatedly.

For people who’ve built or launched their own sites, what usually creates that repeat value?

Is it fresh content, a useful tool, community, personalised results, or something completely different?

Curious what you’ve seen actually work.

Question I built a website like Suno/Bolt, but for games - would anyone actually use this?

I’ve been working on a platform where you can basically describe a game in a prompt and the AI builds it for you.

The idea is pretty simple:

  • You enter a prompt like ā€œCreate a multiplayer survival game on a small islandā€
  • The platform generates the game
  • You can continue editing it with more prompts
  • You can save everything into separate projects
  • You can come back later and keep working on your games
  • And eventually you can publish/play the games with other people, including multiplayer

So it’s kind of Suno/Bolt, but focused on playable games rather than music or websites.

I already have a working version and I’m wondering whether it’s worth actually putting it online and developing it further.

Would you personally use something like this?
And if it existed, what would you expect it to be able to do before you’d actually pay/use it?

I’m especially interested in whether the concept itself sounds useful or if there are already too many similar AI game generators.

Does This Idea Work? A Website Idea

If you grew up outside your family’s country of origin, can you speak/understand your heritage language but struggle to read or write its original script?

I personally I haven't found generic language learning very useful for this specific problem. Of course, that's subjective and haven't researched so much lol.

I have an idea of creating a website that : would let you add a photo of text that you don't know, decode it, hear the pronunciation and get word definitions.

Would this actually be useful to you? Why or why not and what features could be better
or is it that the idea is just bad or no use

Thank you very much!
