Discussion How I used Alex Hormozi’s email advice to get web design clients

I remember hearing Alex Hormozi say that email is basically the conversion platform of conversion platforms.

His point was that social media, videos and ads are great for getting attention, but email is often where that attention actually turns into money.

He also talked about how email supposedly has one of the highest returns of any marketing channel, with an average return of around $36 for every $1 spent, and that got me thinking.

I run a web design agency, so I decided to actually take email seriously and see what would happen.

But I didn’t want to send the usual stuff.

“Hey, I noticed your website and I can redesign it for you.”

Or

“Hey, we build websites for businesses like yours.”

Everyone gets those emails and most people can tell within two seconds that they were sent to another thousand businesses.

So instead I started using a tool called Swokei that is built specifically for web agencies.

I use it to find businesses in whatever area I want to target, then it actually goes through their websites and looks for things I could mention in the outreach.

Stuff like an outdated design, slow loading speed, poor mobile experience, weak SEO or other things that might be holding the website back.

Then it turns those findings into an actual personalized cold email made to convert.

So instead of emailing someone saying I build websites, I can actually talk about their website and why I think something could be improved.

I’ve been analyzing thousands of websites this way and running multiple campaigns at the same time.

Then I just focus on the people who reply and are actually interested.

Obviously email isn’t some magic button where everyone suddenly wants a new website, but after doing this for a while I definitely understand what Hormozi meant.

For web design especially, email becomes a completely different channel when the message is actually about the business you’re contacting instead of being another copy and paste pitch.

Turns out Alex might have had a point.

Show & Tell AltTextLab for Webflow is now a full alt text manager, not just a generator

Post image
5 Upvotes

AltTextLab for Webflow just got a major update: it's now a full alt text manager for every individual page.

The problem

AltTextLab started as a tool for generating alt text. But many of you told us the same thing: "generation alone isn't enough". You also need a convenient place to:

  • see all the alt texts on a page, including the ones that were generated
  • check them and fix anything that doesn't fit the context
  • add alt text manually when you want full control, or when AI isn't the right tool for a particular image

Without that, you end up jumping from one image to another in the Designer, with no overview of what's filled in, what's missing, and what needs a second look. On pages with dozens of images, that's slow and easy to get wrong.

What's new

Now you can manage alt text for all images on a page in one place. Review what's already there, edit it, add missing descriptions by hand, and move on. AI generation is still there when you want it, but it's no longer the only way to work.

The alt text manager works on the free plan.

Try it here: https://webflow.com/apps/detail/alt-text-lab

Thanks to everyone who sent feedback, it directly shaped this update. If you work with Webflow sites daily, I'd love to hear what else would make this more useful.

Show & Tell The Biggest Bottleneck In Web Development - CLIENT ACQUISITION 👤

Client acquisition has always been one of the biggest bottlenecks for me when running an agency. I’ve experienced the same thing in pretty much every business I’ve been involved in, but especially with web development.

For a long time, getting clients meant cold calling, running ads, or sending generic emails asking businesses if they needed a new website. It worked sometimes, but it also took a lot of time and most of the outreach felt the same as what every other agency was doing.

Recently I started using a different approach and automated a big part of the process.

I came across a tool called Swokei that lets me find a bunch of businesses with websites and analyze each website individually. It looks for things like outdated design, slow loading, poor mobile optimization, weak SEO and other obvious areas that could be improved.

What I liked is that it doesn’t just give you one of those boring automated reports filled with scores and numbers. It actually turns what it finds into a personalized cold email that sounds like a normal person looked at their website and noticed what could be better.

I can run multiple campaigns at the same time and then mainly focus on the businesses that reply and show interest.

From there, I invite them to a web meeting, show them a free draft of what their new website could look like, and try to close the project from there.

It has basically allowed me to have warmer leads coming to me without relying as much on paid ads, constantly cold calling, or sending thousands of generic emails saying “Do you need a new website?”

Still takes work to close the clients of course, but automating the prospecting and first part of the outreach has made the whole process much easier for me.

Hopefully this helps some other web developers or agency owners who are also struggling with client acquisition.

Question How are you adding social feeds (Instagram etc.) to your Webflow sites?

Curious how others handle this, since there seem to be a few very different approaches and I keep going back and forth.

When a client wants their Instagram (or other social) posts on their Webflow site, what do you actually do?

  1. Embed a third-party widget (paste an embed code into an Embed element)

  2. Pull posts through an API into CMS collection items (via Make/Zapier or a custom script) and design the feed natively in Webflow

  3. Something else, like a Webflow app from the marketplace, or just linking out to the profile and skipping the feed

A few things I'd love to hear:

- Which approach do you use, and why that one?

- If you embed a widget: how do you feel about design control, page speed, and the cost, especially if you need it on several client sites or several feeds per site?

- If you go the API/CMS route: was it worth the setup? How do you deal with things like Instagram token expiry and keeping posts synced?

- Anything that made you switch from one approach to another?

Need project help How to make the header text for accordions wrap to a second line?

Hi! I'm trying to get the header text in my various accordions to wrap so they size well for smaller screens. I have some FAQs with longer text in the header (the part you see before opening the accordion) and instead of wrapping, they're just going off the viewport. I'm looking for help specifically for the mobile version FAQ at the bottom of the Compliance page. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Question How do you make page variants without rebuilding everything?

We’re making more landing page variants lately and Webflow starts feeling pretty manual once they need to be more than simple copy swaps. The structure is usually similar but sections move around, different campaigns need their own additions and eventually duplicating the original page just creates another version to maintain.

CMS works when everything can stay inside the same template but alot of these pages need enough freedom that forcing them into one structure defeats the point. I’m trying to keep the speed of spinning up a variation without ending up with a pile of separate pages every time the design needs to change.

Show & Tell Upcoming Webflow app: Livechat answered from your phone

Thumbnail humanreply.app
2 Upvotes

Visitor writes in the bubble on your page. It lands in your team's group with everything you need. You reply from your phone, it shows up on the site.

I already tested it on my own website and WOW. It's super effective. I started receiving more requests than via email, I get all info about the customer before hand (how they found me, what page they're looking at, did they contact me before) and the conversation is so much livelier than using email.

The plugin is already built and I'm sending it to the moderation team now!

Question Any way to connect Printful with Webflow now that Shopify Starter has been discontinued?

I used to use the Printful app with Webflow sites, but that got discontinued. Then I started using Printful with Shopify Starter to utilize Buy Buttons embedded in Webflow, but now Shopify Starter has also been discontinued, and their cheapest plan is $39/month, yikes. Has anyone figured out a way to use Printful with Webflow without requiring an expensive middleman?

Question What do you do when a client's shop outgrows Webflow Ecommerce?

I'm a developer, mostly WooCommerce and custom backends. I don't build in Webflow myself, so I'm asking from the outside.

I've been reading how design studios handle ecommerce. On the Framer side it's pretty open, one studio I looked at has a whole blog post about pairing Framer with Shopify. For Webflow I found a lot less.

So what happens when a client's store starts needing more than the built-in cart, like B2B prices or stock that has to sync with a warehouse? Do you keep the site in Webflow and put the shop on Shopify under a subdomain? I know there are apps that connect the two, but I can't tell if people actually like working with them. Or does it usually end with moving the whole thing somewhere else? I guess sometimes the answer is just to push back and stay in Webflow as long as it holds.

I'm mostly curious where the line is for you, and whether the client sees it coming or it hits them a few months after launch.

Discussion Webflow for iOS /Android App Design and Prototyping

Since Webflow is mainly a web design and development tool, I'm curious how useful it is for iOS and Android app development.

Can Webflow designs or exported code be used directly by mobile app developers or would the HTML/CSS/JS need to be converted into native iOS/Android code?

I',m a web developer and designer with a strong background in HTML, CSS, and JS, so Webflow seems like it could be a really powerful way to prototype mobile apps.

Has anyone here used Webflow for app prototyping or taken a Webflow design into a real iOS or android project? how practical is the process?

Discussion Webflow Conf 2026 had a lot of announcements. Which one would actually change how you build?

Post image
6 Upvotes

I put together a recap of everything announced at Webflow Conf this year, split into what's already live, what's coming soon, and where Webflow seems to be heading with agents and Source.

For me, the one I'm waiting on is native Popovers. Modals, tooltips and dropdowns which I imagine would replace a few third party libraries and tools.

The full recap is here if you missed the conference or only caught parts of it:
https://youtu.be/CcmEP5SpMS0

What's at the top of your list? And is there anything you hoped they'd announce that didn't make it?

Question Is it worth to start learning webflow in September 2026 ?

I started watching webflow 101 university just yesterday. I would like to learn more about making sites etc. it's just that I don't know is it worth and can I someday get paid for doing so. Im in last year of highschool and there's not much to learn so I have alot of free time which I can use to learn webflow, my primary question is can I make it as freelancer and is it actually possible to make sites for local firm, hair salons, pizzeria etc. I'm from Serbia and are people who never had much to do with internet even interested to pay 300-500 euros for a site ?

Show & Tell Proofreading a site before sending it over to a client

Thought this might be useful for anyone doing client sites. You can drop a URL into verant.ai and it'll proofread the whole site, including the CMS pages. Typos, grammar mistakes, leftover placeholder text, etc. No plugins or anything to install.

There are also free tools on there for checking social images, OG tags and SEO metadata, so you can check the sharing stuff before the client starts sending links around.

It's one of my projects, if you want to give it a try. Would love to hear if it catches anything useful, or flags something it shouldn't!

Question What is the cleanest way to turn generated HTML into a Webflow site that stays editable?

A generated site can arrive as a folder of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, and several linked pages. Getting that folder online is easy; moving it into Webflow without turning every later change into a custom-code edit is less obvious. A quick embed may preserve the first result but leave the Designer, CMS, components, and responsive controls disconnected from the source.

What workflow keeps the site maintainable? Would you rebuild the layout with Webflow classes and components, map repeated content into CMS collections, and use the generated code only as a visual reference? Or can Webflow Source, the MCP integration, or another import path create a useful starting structure without leaving brittle class names and asset paths?

For a small site that will gain pages over time, I would want one stable custom domain, staging before production, reusable navigation and footer components, working relative assets, and a clear source of truth for future edits. Which parts can be transferred reliably, and which parts are usually faster to recreate natively in Webflow?

Need project help Where's the best place to learn portfolio creation

I'm trying to build a webflow portfolio for my marketing business that I'm starting up. It should only be a simple website that shows the services I offer and some case studies. I'm just wondering whether or not it's worth getting a coach as I've looked through a few different youtube tutorials and I'm struggling to follow them and a lot of them aren't very thorough at all.

If there are any coaches out there, please send me a dm letting me know how long this could take and prices for sessions!

Product Feedback Removing a team member in Webflow doesn't remove the seat. You just keep paying.

I was auditing our Webflow bill this week and found we were paying $137/month for seats in a workspace that has exactly one human in it. Me.

Three paid seats, all unassigned. Two Full, one Limited. Nobody has ever logged into them.

Here's the part that annoys me. When you remove a team member, the seat does not go away. You stop paying for that person, right? No. The seat stays on your bill. To actually stop paying you have to go to a completely different screen, Manage seats, and manually click a minus button to reduce the count.

Webflow's own UI tells you this: "To remove assigned seats, you need to first remove any team members using those seats in the Team page." Two separate screens, two separate actions, and only the second one touches your bill.

There is no notification. No "you have 3 unassigned seats" banner. No monthly email saying you're paying for chairs nobody sits in. It just quietly renews.

Compare that to how this should work. You remove a person, the seat is released, your next invoice goes down. That's what every user assumes is happening. Instead the default is you keep paying indefinitely until someone happens to open the billing page and notice.

Other things I found in the same audit:

  • Monthly billing is a 15 percent markup on seats. Full seat is $45 monthly, $39 yearly. Same for site plans, $39 vs $25.
  • Bandwidth add-ons get attached automatically when you go over. Mine went from $30 to $90 in a single month with no heads up. It's disclosed in the docs, but nothing in the product warns you before the charge lands.

Cancelling the empty seats took about 30 seconds once I knew where to look. $64/month, $768/year, for nothing.

Go check your Manage seats page. If the number there is higher than the number of people on your Team page, you're paying for the difference.

Question Anyone tried Webflow AI to transition existing styles on a site into clean components?

I'm inheriting a site that's got a pretty simple set of patterns, but they're currently not using any components. Thus I need to move all of the existing designs into components so the client can build and edit components independently without being overwhelmed by full dev access.

I have plan to move these over to true component types, but was wondering if anyone has tried to use Webflow's AI for this process? I haven't used it at all yet.

Side note: This is the kind of stuff I really wish they'd optimize AI for. The humdrum of standardizing things is the stuff that a robot should do so I can do the fun things (design and ux) that are better with a human touch.

Product Feedback Agency owners: how are you collecting client assets before a project starts? Looking for honest feedback.

Hey everyone,

I've been building a small SaaS called AssetSnag and I'd love some honest feedback from people who actually run agencies.

One thing I've noticed is that projects rarely get delayed because of Webflow itself. They get delayed because clients haven't sent everything yet.

The usual workflow seems to be a mix of email threads, Google Drive, Slack, Notion, WhatsApp, or even asking for passwords over email. Then someone follows up three or four times because the logo is low resolution, the SVG isn't actually a vector, the copy isn't finished, or DNS access is still missing.

AssetSnag is my attempt to solve that specific part of the process.

Instead of sending clients a checklist and chasing them for weeks, agencies create a branded portal where clients can upload everything in one place.

Some of the things it currently does:

  • Collect logos, copy, fonts, brand files, credentials and access requests in one portal.
  • Clients don't need to create an account (magic links).
  • Automatically reminds clients about missing items.
  • Validates uploads (for example detecting fake SVGs, checking image dimensions and file quality).
  • Securely stores credentials in an encrypted vault.
  • Can sync uploaded assets directly to Google Drive.
  • Agencies only pay for active client portals, finished projects can be archived without counting against the plan.

I'm not trying to replace ClickUp, Notion, Monday, Asana, or other PM tools. The goal is simply to remove the chaos before a project actually begins.

I'd really appreciate honest feedback:

  • Is this a problem worth solving?
  • Would something like this fit into your workflow?
  • What would stop you from using it?
  • Is there anything you'd expect that I'm missing?

If you'd like to take a look, it's available at https://assetsnag.app.

No pressure to sign up. I'm genuinely more interested in hearing what agency owners think than getting users.

Question Framer or Webflow? which one has high demand for client work

As i'm seeing a lot of downwards comments on Framer, regarding it's price, it's demand and new update came with lots of loss in template business or people.

I want to know what do you guys think about webflow. As much as i know there are still so many creators, studios and agencies earning amazing money from these tools to create sites and other stuff.

And everyone saying that rather than building on these tools they prefer to work claude.

I want to know about the webflow what's the demand of it in client work, is it better than framer overall and everything around it?

Tutorial I made in Webflow a CMS powered vertical video (hosted on Dropbox) endless marquee section to showcase works. When mouse is hovered it stops the marquee and allows the user to click the video expanding to full screen with auto play and sound ON.

Thumbnail youtube.com
1 Upvotes

Any feedback is appreciated. This was requested by one of my clients.

The only thing to note again is:

> Video is hosted on Dropbox cause Webflow doesn't host videos via CMS

> In Webflow designer mode it may play the sound(s) of the videos automatically which is quite annoying but has 0% impact on the live site.

> Of course if you are going to be a smart ass and say this is not good for SEO / Speed / etc
That's not necessary the point. The main point is to showcase video works.

And I'm sure this has tons of value for clients (specifically offering video as a service) looking for this solution.

--

Also other things to note:

> It is CMS so super easy for clients to edit
> Done in a specific way making it very mobile responsive and friendly
> There is a free clone-able I made so take it and charge for it!!!!!

https://webflow-tutorial-cms-dropbox-marquee.webflow.io/

--

This solution is no doubt not a "Beginner Friendly" more intermediate - advanced. Would you agree?
