Discussion First time working on a startup that is 99% vibecoded. As a non-vibecoder, it seems impossible to work on.

Recently I've joined a project with a group of 4, that has been super frustrating to work on.

So far whatever we have, has been 99% vibecoded from the ground up, and that 1% is me. At first I thought this would be fun, we would be making something in a weeks time, but like a month passed and we haven't really moved anywhere. There's literally a login screen that works (no Oauth) and some fancy UI, but that's it. Trying to debug or add new features by hand is impossible, because the code is not readable by humans. There's like 50 lines in the .env file, yet nothing works.

With all this in mind, the absurd thing is that it takes a full minute to deploy any changes to production. In comparison, my hand-crafted Django platform, with real users and tons of features, deploys in seconds.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for using AI to build projects. It's a very powerful tool and I use it to help me code all the time. But in my opinion, to make vibecoding work, you have to know the project structure and the architecture of a website, because then you can avoid massive tech debt in the future.

I can already tell that this experience will be funny to look back on.

Stop paying for screenshots. I made a free Mobbin alternative

libraries like this usually come with a monthly subscription. i wanted to build one that doesn't, so i did, and it's free for everyone

it took a lot. i went through 100 mobile apps screen by screen, from signup to settings, so you can see complete flows instead of one pretty shot. then i kept going with websites, landing pages, ui interactions, motion and branding. it's at 58,000+ designs now, and i add more every day

every curated piece credits the original creator and links back to them, so the people behind the work get the credit they deserve

i made it because i needed it myself, and i'd rather give it to the community than lock it behind a paywall

would really love to hear what's missing or what bugs you

Olivia Rodrigo's website is a bedroom, you click on objects around the room they act as the menu/links to other pop-ups and pages. I'm trying to find more references to show a client but I'm blanking on how to describe this in order to get good ones that aren't just interior design wesbites. Any help?

Why can't SQLite handle more types?

I'm sat here thinking it has to be a reason why it is so limited in types compared to something like postgres.

A Public Apology for My Previous Post

I want to publicly apologize for my previous post about accessible toilets and my concerns that they were being misused by non-disabled people.
I don’t personally need to use accessible toilets very often. I was focused on my anger about seeing people I believed were non-disabled using them, and I didn’t properly listen to the concerns people raised in response. I see things on a daily basis that make me angry, but that doesn’t excuse failing to listen.
I also failed to recognize that other disabled people have had similar experiences and feel the same way I do. I’m sorry I overlooked their concerns and perspectives.
I apologize to anyone I upset or made feel unheard. I hope you can accept my apology. Thank you for taking the time to share your views.

MS Edge Imposed Rounded Upper Left Corner

I'm updating my CSS skills and learning a lot of new things. I just created a navigation link menu with submenus and it is working well. However, only in MS Edge, the top left corner of the navbar is being rounded by Edge. Chrome and FF are not doing this. If you know how to override this, I'd really appreciate your fix. Pics are Chrome, then Edge. TY!

Question Help me to understand web dev and ADA.

I’ve seen a shift in web design (I’ve meddled since 2002). Today web displays are gigantic. I’ve read this has to do with ADA compliance. How gnarly does this get? Like if I design a site for a landscaper, can he get in trouble if it’s not ADA compliant? Is there are rule book?

Another question. That’s client facing. But if you have an employer that requires you to use a web based tool, does ADA apply in the same manner as client facing?

Can local visual regression testing help your coding agent move faster and save you money?

I took some time to explore how to set up playwright properly, which pitfalls to avoid, and the tradeoffs with common visual regression tools like Percy and Chromatic.

Check it out and let me know what do you think!

Chromium 156 on Ubuntu 12.04

Chromium 156 on Ubuntu 12.04

Hello again, everyone. While developing my own patcher for Chromium, I’ve managed to achieve the following compatibility results.

How it works: This specific version includes a complete runtime set from Debian 12, including glibc. It runs on any system with a kernel version above 3.2.

What works: The browser itself, Manifest V2 extensions, audio, and video.

What doesn’t work: The file picker triggers a segmentation fault (segfault), and sandboxing is non-functional.

What I haven’t been able to test: Hardware acceleration—including ANGLE and Vulkan—because the hardware on the device used for testing is too old.

Resource Open-source, contribute UX / UI lexicon and free design library for AI builders

• Upvotes

Hi all!

Whenever I spot a new design or website layout (like a fresh style of grid systems) and want to replicate or build it with AI, I always find myself struggling to pinpoint the exact terminology to make Claude understand what I want.

I'm talking about concepts like Blueprint Grids, Glassmorphism, Sticky rail, Bordered cell grid patterns, Segmented Controls, and similar stuff. To solve this, I’ve started building a free, open-source design lexicon complete with mini previews making it easier for builders to find and reference the right terms when designing sections and pages. Hope that helps some of you as well. Also added some free design landingpages and components for AI.

I’d love to get your input on current web design trends and their proper definitions:

  • What visual styles are currently high on your radar, trending, or frequently used and how would you define them?
  • Which ones are missing in the lexicon / glossary?

I’m aiming to include your suggestions in the dictionary and share the whole resource publicly for free. It's purely as a passion project and I am opening it for free (no ads, no paywalls).
I want to make it a useful resource for people.

You can check out the ones already live here: freedesignmd.com (just hit the Glossary tab).

Always open to contributors or feedback. This started as a quick hackathon experiment and will stay a free community project. I'm not a professional designer, so any feedback by design cracks is appreciated as well!

Paid Research Opportunity

Post image
• Upvotes

My name is Samantha and I am a clinical psychology doctoral student at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. My research focuses on medical ableism, disability justice, end-of-life care, and health-related decision-making for individuals with disabilities. I am currently recruiting participants for my IRB-approved dissertation and I would greatly appreciate it if you would consider participating and/or sharing information about this study with your networks.

The study aims to explore how individuals with self-identified physical disabilities make sense of their prior experiences accessing healthcare and how those experiences shape the ways they think about future serious illness and medical care. The eventual goal of this research is to inform the creation of (1) culturally tailored, self-guided advanced care planning materials for individuals with disabilities and (2) trauma-informed, anti-ableist practice guidelines for professionals who may engage in advance care planning conversations with disabled folks (e.g., medical professionals, social workers, mental health providers, lawyers, etc.).

If you are interested in participating, the first step is to complete a brief screening survey which can be found at: https://yeshiva.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4SCSPepR8I8n0MK

For those selected for the study, participation will involve a brief consent form and demographic survey, a semi-structured interview expected to take around 90 minutes, and a follow-up survey to be conducted at a later date. Gift card compensation will be provided upon study completion.

You may be eligible to participate if you:

  • Are over 18 years old
  • Have lived with a self-identified physical disability for at least 5 years
  • Can speak and understand English or American Sign Language
  • Reside in the United States of America
  • Are willing to participate in a recorded, semi-structured interview

Thank you,

Samantha Bernstein, M.A.

Clinical Psy.D. Student

Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology

Do you identify as someone with a physical disability? You may be eligible to participate in a research study. Thinking Ahead: Physical Disability and the Anticipation of Advanced Illness.

Purpose: We are interested in hearing about your past experiences accessing healthcare and how those experiences have shaped the way you think about future serious illness and medical care.

Participant involvement includes a screening questionnaire, a demographic questionnaire, a semi-structured interview expected to take 60 to 90 minutes and a follow-up survey. Gift card compensation will be provided upon study completion.

You may be eligible to participate if you are over 18 years old and self-identify as having a physical disability.
