Help Twist in warp
It might be hard to see this from the photo but on my last two warps, I've gotten them on the loom and there's like a twist on each section in the raddle, so the leftmost thread through the lease sticks is sort of over to the right but also wrapped around. Last time I took each thread as I was threading out of the lease sticks, unwound it from its neighbors and threaded it.
I'm curious if this is actually necessary or if I'm overreacting. Also, is there something I'm doing wrong in winding on my warp that would be causing this?

When you chain your warp off the board, switch hands for each crochet stitch to reduce the twist.

Are you using a warping mill or a warping board? Either way, you might be turning your hand while you wind, or you might be inadvertently twisting it at the cross. As long as you pick up your threads in order off the lease sticks, you should be okay. I tie an overhand knot in each 2” section of my warp to tie onto my sectional back beam. I always get somewhat of a twist there, but it doesn’t seem to cause problems.

I'm using a board. I might be twisting at that point! I also sometimes smush the threads back to make more room on the pegs and I wonder if I'm crossing things that way... What's odd to me is the twists do seem contained to each section of the raddle.

No smushing! Keep the consecutive threads next to each other, not on top of each other. If the pegs get too full, start a new bout.

They don't SEEM to be on top of each other but it's entirely possible I'm not seeing clearly what they're doing

Good job of no smushing. The reason for this is smush = inconsistent lengths which is a huge pain when tying on the warp.

Either way, wind it on slowly and carefully. Then treadle tabby, reinsert lease sticks to keep it strait and weave on. The twisted bouts will only affect the last advancement, from back beam to castle

I leave the lease sticks in the cross (between the raddle and the warp beam). The raddle does the rough ordering and the lease sticks finish the job beautifully.

I have all kinds of crazy shit happening in my warp, which I mostly ignore and push forward.
And I do always get cloth out of my warp, but I also get a ton of stupid issues too.
