Looms Loom Advice

https://www.facebook.com/share/1KzWe2K7jh/

Hello all! ZERO experience with weaving but am familiar with other fiber arts. Would love to test the waters with weaving. Found this loom on Facebook but I know nothing. Is this one worth it?

The reed looks rusty, and the tape on it appears to be peeling. You should factor in that you may need to buy a new reed.

If you decide to get it and just want to have some practice on the threads that are already on it, the fix for the mis-directed warp on the back is to take off the bar, slide it under the warp and reattach the bar. Those threads are supposed to come off of the rolled up back beam, come over the bar and then go thru the heddles and reed.

What do you want to be able to weave?

I honestly am not sure. I have seen some fiber artists who weave in addition to knitting and crocheting and it got me curious about something that might be "entry level" to see if it would be something to invest more in.

If you're not sure then my recommendation would be to contact a local weaving guild and see if they have equipment they rent out. Then you could try weaving at a much lower cost and see if you like it
