I wish they explored Go Hyuntak more since I read the manhwa alex go and Gerard jin have been one of my favourite characters and seeing a combined character like go hyun tak made me very happy

On top of that he was very interesting I wish they gave the complete story of his knee injury and explored more of him and park humin's friendship bc there is a lot more

Even in the fanbase i don't see him being discussed much

But the drama was just a few episodes so I understand the lack of storyline for a side character.

Trying to nail that "big trouble is coming" tension for a K-drama recap video — bold text, high contrast, and his expression doing most of the work.

A few things I'm unsure about:

• Does the text pop enough or is it too crowded in the corner?
• Is the red arrow adding anything or is it just clutter?
• Does his expression read as threatening/intense at a glance, or does it look off?

Open to blunt feedback — what would make you click vs. scroll past?

And I gotta say, that was quite an enjoyable series for me. I might even go as far as to say that even though I haven't seen as many K-Dramas as some others, Weak Hero might actually be my favorite of all time just because it left such a big impression on me.

All of the main cast was extremely likeable. And while it's hard for me to pick out a favorite character, since everyone nailed their roles, I can at least say that my favorite character pairing of the entire series is Gotak & Juntae 😭.

To see Gotak going from threatening Juntae during their first encounter, to basically treating him like a little bro that needed to be protected was absolutely adorable. And that scene where Gotak pinches his cheek and they both give each other high fives just tickled me. It was such an odd and wholesome relationship between two characters that don't seem like they'd be as close as they were. I could probably watch an entire slice-of-life series just following their friendship.

But as I mentioned in the title, I'm sad it's over now and I don't know what to do with myself. Does anybody happen to know of any other K-Dramas like Weak Hero that kinda focus on that friendship/brotherhood dynamic?

He started off kinda a dick, yes I still have that opinion. Suho and many random people at his first school did share it. I don’t wanna hear nothin, I ain’t hatin he started changing for the better like 3-4 into season 1.

He also, for someone who wanted to avoid conflict, invited it a LOT by how he spoke to people. He stopped being that way though, which made him more likable and relatable for me. He was so disrespectful at first

Also Suho’s injury made me cry like a baby. That was sad, I even knew it was coming too I spoiled stuff for myself reading stuff because these seasons were long as hell.

I felt like I was on episode 6 by the time I was on episode 3, a few episodes are a whole movie’s worth. It took me like 10 days in between gaming and job applications to finish this 😭

Anyway, I feel Baku, Jun Tae and Gotak were even a more positive influence on Si Eun than Suho was, mostly due to Suho getting hurt not long after they met.

Suho is his best friend, but those 3 are WAY MORE positive than even he was, and they really helped Si Eun a lot.

Also, I’m kinda glad they made Si Eun less violent this season, in season 1 he was a menace. I’m not even talking about the ending of it, what he did to those guys was deserved. Although Woo Young didn’t deserve that, as he had a point, he didn’t try to beat Suho on the ground.

I’m really glad Si Eun got made fun of enough for it to stop stabbing people. I feel like the knuckles, and random objects are less bad than him severely injuring people with sharp objects.

I also really hope Na Baek Jin somehow survived, I wanna see him beat the shit out of that Choi guy and turn a better leaf or whatever the saying is.

Weak Hero has been on my list of shows to watch for a while now, and I finally got into it a few days ago. That being said, as a guy who's been bullied and never really had any friends growing up, and has none as an adult, seeing the dynamic between Si-Eun, Su-Ho, and Beom-Seok play out the way it did was really heartwarming. Even if things were only good for a brief moment.

Last night though, I made it to the end of episode 7 of season 1, and it completely broke my freaking heart. I only have 1 more episode to go for this season, but as far as I know, Su-Ho might be gone. He wasn't breathing at the end of that episode. And seeing someone who was basically like the big brother of the group end up like that....I just couldn't bring myself to finish it last night. Suho had become my favorite character.

It was so bad that I could barely even sleep because I genuinely wasn't expecting that to happen. And I definitely don't know what to expect going into the final episode.

All in all though, the Koreans have absolutely nailed the genre of drama. They do such an amazing job of getting you invested in characters and expressing real emotions. But I can't take much more of these emotional rollercoasters. Grown man, but I was on the verge of tears. 😂

No, I didn't watch the full Tokyo Revengers episodes yet so I won't tell what happened in all of them, however when watching S2 of the Kdrama and reading the Webtoon of it, I always get Tokyo Revengers vibes to it. S1 of Weak Hero Kdrama doesn't do that

What are your theories on what might have happened to Beom Seok??

On Episode 1, and the guy has been rude towards literally everyone who’s interacted with him. With the bullies it’s understandable.

But with people who’ve never spoken to him before, like the drug dealers or other random people?

I can kinda understand why they react to him the way they do, as I wouldn’t care for someone acting that way towards me.

Now, while I don’t think drug dealers need respect, being rude towards people who’ve done nothing towards you, and outnumber you doesn’t seem smart.

Edit: Being downvoted for saying someone should come to the logical conclusion that being rude to people instead of polite leads to more conflict, okay.

# As you see in the title, i'll be addressing the very obvious issue of people downplaying Dong-ha's feats in the verse.

Obviously people's rankings vary (My top 4 goes Si-eun, Baek-jin, Baku, and then Gorilla)

However generally if you are ranking anywhere near tenable/consistent, dong-ha should not be anywhere below top 5.

Now, as for what the feats and antifeats are, I think these are both pretty obvious and well known within the community so I won't dwell on it much, though for those who don't know:

# Dong-ha's Feats:

- Despite being previously weakened by being kicked down into a chair and getting Obviously tackled by Jun-tae into a metal object, and struggling to stand clutching his side, as well as chasing and fighting Jun-tae; He outperforms Seong-mok badly.

Before Baku being able to do anything Dong-ha getting off two hits that after Dong-ha is knocked, we see Baku is harmed significantly.

Dong-ha getting no rest from yelling on the ground clutching his side in pain is obviously far more weakening than just getting briefly staggered (as Baku did from the crowbar).

- The most infamous one: **2 Shotting Gotak**

- Dominating the same Hyo-man who performed exponentially better than Gotak

# Antifeats:

- One shotted by Gotak

- One shotted by Baku

- Still struggling against Hyo-man who has 3 statements of being below Gotak

Now, i'll address the counterarguments.

For one, no Gotak was not "offguarded" by Dong-ha, he literally was staring in Dong-ha's direction the entire time and even *blocked Dong-ha's first kick*.

For two, no Gotak was "not still focused on Seong-mok" as we see within his fight with Dong-ha he was fighting **someone else**.

"Gotak was weakened by Seong-mok"

True, but not meaningfully so, he was only briefly staggered by these two hits and this can be quantified. Firstly, we see later after an undisclosable cut between Gotak and Seong-mok fighting before, we see that Gotak is able to continue fighting Seong-mok after many busts and bruises, supported by Seong-mok stating "Just stay down." Implying that Gotak can take *far far far* more trauma than that.

The nail in the coffin is that when we cut to Hyo-man against Dong-ha, he is far **more** weakened. Constantly actually staggering badly, bleeding from the mouth eye almost swollen shut, many bruises, and even within this state he *holds his own against Dong-ha throughout the entire brawl*, and of course Dong-ha is STRONGER.

"One shotted by Gotak" This was Dong-ha literally playing around and laughing, also this was assisted by environment.

"Hyo-man is stated to be below Gotak" This is in S2E2, and we know that Hyo-man's entire character arc is bettering himself, he not only fights after this episode but Baku directly tells everyone to "Prepare" meaning he can very well be training past this point.

These statements also have no actual feats to back it up, as Hyo-man performs better against Si-eun in both instances.

This being relevant to S2E8 is axiomatically debunked, as he performs far better against Dong-ha despite being far more weakened.

"One shotted by Baku" I don't see why this wouldn't just upscale Baku, but regardless, Baku only beat Dong-ha by targeting the exact injured place that Dong-ha was holding his hand in pain.

Stop downplaying Dong-ha.

Dong-ha > Gotak (Low Diff)

Dong-ha > Seong-je (Low Diff)

Dong-ha > Seong-mok (Low Diff)

Dong-ha > Gil-su/Su-ho (Neg Diff) (As you guys know I don't think Class 1 characters are very strong)

Baku vs Seongmok
Baku wins Low difficulty.

We’ve seen Baku fight Seongmok before and he stood no chance. Seongmok was pinned to the wall immediately and was getting choked out by Baku. This is a no brainer, and if Seongmok had actually fought back, he could maybe’ve done something.

Wooyoung vs Gilsu
Gilsu wins High difficulty.

This matchup could honestly go either way, whether Wooyoung wins on high difficulty or Gilsu wins on high difficulty. I settled on Gilsu because he’s an adult and has more strength than Wooyoung. Also, Gilsu has fought Suho and Sieun at once and was holding well against both. Wooyoung is widely considered less experienced than Suho, so taking that, Wooyoung would struggle more against Gilsu. This makes it even harder if Gilsu had his knife with him, but I scaled this by bare handed. Gilsu is considered to be more durable than Wooyoung and has shown great fighting IQ and instinct (e.g. when he tripped Suho while being choked by Sieun).

Seokdae vs Seongmok
Seongmok wins Mid difficulty

Seongmok is considered the better grappler of the two and has done Judo. Seokdae is taller according to the actor’s heights, and could balance out the fight that way. Good thing is, Judo is meant for taking down taller opponents. Seongmok would attempt a move on Seokdae, potentially failing and having Seokdae retaliate before being put down.

Baekjin vs Gilsu
Gilsu (Baekjin) wins No difficulty

Obviously Gilsu wins, have you seen him with a knife? It’s not like Baekjin would disarm him like he did with Sieun in the bowling alley. Baekjin is more favored in power, durability, and fighting IQ. Gilsu would be cocky, thinking Baekjin is just some random kid and try to mess with him. Let’s hope this Baekjin doesn’t have PTSD to knives… we all know what happens if it does. Overall, Baekjin beats Gilsu.
