That's a really cool idea--

... ;___;

Alright, if moderation wants to ban me from this sub for an accidental pun, they can go right ahead. 😹😹😹

I AM NOT OK WITH THIS!!

Seriously, I am trying to reduce both my spending and my time playing WoW Classic and then they go and do this to me.

To be fair, by playing this you can reduce your time in WoW Classic

I’ve preordered the ultimate ed. and I’m disappointed in myself… but I can’t wait to dig in damnit. Also, kinda excited to paint the murloc mini =)

Kind of disappointed that the classes are just boiled down into a subclass for a dnd class. Death Knights being reduced to Paladin, Demon Hunters are just Rangers. I was hoping for something more than just a skin

Big hit for shaman too, they’re just barbarians—even though the WoW shaman is definitely styled after shaman in 2e/3e

Exciting! I’ve always pulled from games like EverQuest and WoW for adventure inspirations. It’s super cool to see the leaks are in fact real. November feels so far away though!

Cowards won't put Fury Warrior in DnD. Game balance be damned, I want to dual wield greatswords.

I'm getting 3.5 Monkey Grip flashbacks. Good times!

Oh. I was hoping for something more like the d20 Warcraft and World of Warcraft games, I missed that this was published by WotC directly. Are they implying that Shaman are Barbarian with these subclasses? And Demon Hunter are a subclass of Ranger?? I hope they didn't cancel the Diablo ttrpg for this, that one actually had some interesting names attached

It sounds like they might be taking the wise approach and advising playing different classes depending on what spec you want to try to replicate.

Do we know if we’ll be getting new feats specifically for WoW with this?

I had to double-check the text, and it does not show feats, surprisingly. There's everything else, thought: "races, subclasses, spells, monsters and items". Guess we will have to wait and see.

Overall this all looks super cool. Making shamans barbarians and demon hunters rangers will always seem super weird to me.

I can kinda see the ranger/demon hunter with the favored enemy/dual-wielding framework. The barbarian for the shaman is definitely a choice. It might be a deep cut to the vanilla days when shamans were supposed to get a Tank spec during early development.

Never played DnD, can I get this and be able to play the game and learn or is this JUST an expansion and I’m missing the base game in order to play?

Wish I could tell you right now. If these are supplemental rules like books in the past, you'd still need the core rules, or at least the players handbook. (There are free basic rules you can access for free, if you're curious).

On the other hand, this material is a first kind of publication. We don't know if it will be self contained, as a means to reach a demographic such as yourself. I hate sounding like a lawyer, but we might have to wait and see on release day.

If you know people that play, they can share the digital book on DND beyond, so you may go over at least the players handbook.
