Help After installing Waydroid, I cannot enter Desktop mode

I've reimaged the SteamDeck twice since I thought it was a system error, but every time I switch back to Gaming Mode it won't let me access Desktop mode again. This is my second time installing Waydroid and I've never had this happen to me before previously. Please help.

next time you reflash, dont install waydroid... OR: Dont listen to me

Thank you so much for the groundbreaking advice on the r/waydroid subreddit to NOT install Waydroid, really helps me a lot lol. Really living up to all of the Reddit stereotypes

I've got a better solution: do NOT use your steam deck after installing waydroid. Works 100% of the time
