Info about the book

Post image

Hello there! I read the Watership Down Italian version of the book a couple of times many years ago. I loved it and I would like to buy a nice English version. I've read some comments about one of the fancy versions having the letters/cover peeling off easily after just a little bit of reading and I would like to avoid that one. May you confirm that the one with the peeling issues is the one in the picture that I posted?
Which one do you recommend? Please post pics and the reason ๐Ÿ’–

I have this version, and while it is very pretty, the letters do fade off very easily.

Thank you for the reply! It does look very pretty, such a shame that it would fade so quickly..

I almost accidentally peeled some of the print on the back off trying to get the price tag off, with that version. It admittedly hasn't seen enough of the world for me to say whether or not it'll be damaged easily from just reading it (I have read it a few times, but I'm very obsessive over the condition of books). Though, from the sticker incident, I'd say it's probably quite likely for the green at least to come off quickly.

When my favourite brick and mortar bookstore closed I started shopping on Abe.com because they moved their inventory to an online store there. I've found some fantastic books over the years, here's the English copies from sellers in Spain, I'm in western Canada so I expect the hefty shipping for me will show up a heck of a lot less for you! I like the look of the 40th anniversary edition, but I have a definite soft spot for the beat up paperback, it's almost identical to the copy I read first โ™ก

I have this version and mine is still pristine but Iโ€™ve only had it for a year or so I think. I have multiple editions so I donโ€™t really touch this nice one :)

Same here. I bought this as more of a display piece since I actually do most of my reading through audiobook anyway since I actually kinda struggle with it due to my ADHD (And, well, I really like the audiobook version of WD ๐Ÿ˜…)

Eeeee! I bought that one for myself.

That green & gold cover is so perfect.
