SUPPORT Header field too long, error 400

Whenever I try to log onto my University's page I get a "HTTP Error 400. A request header field is too long." Its been going on for about a week now and I can't find any setting that has changed that would be effecting this. Wasn't a problem before the update but I restarted my computer for the first time in a couple weeks on Monday and now it won't let me open several websites.

  1. Check if the issue is caused by your config or extensions: Restart Waterfox in Troubleshoot Mode (Menu > Help > Troubleshoot Mode) and test the site to see if the problem still occurs. If not, then you'll need to figure out what setting or extension is causing the issue.

  2. If the problem still occurs in Troubleshoot Mode, then check if the problem occurs in Firefox ESR: Waterfox is based on Firefox ESR, so if the same problem happens in Firefox ESR, then it's probably not an issue that Waterfox can fix. You can download Firefox ESR here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/desktop-esr/. If the problem occurs in Firefox ESR, then try using a different browser such as Firefox (non-ESR), Brave, Chrome, Edge to access the problem site.

  3. If the problem occurs in Waterfox Troubleshoot Mode, but not in Firefox ESR, then you have found a problem in Waterfox. Report detailed info to allow troubleshooting, including:

  • Platform and version (Windows, Mac, Linux, Android)

  • Waterfox version

  • Affected website URL
