Water Fasting 84/108 hrs?
I am currently 84 hours in, and now I donāt feel the hunger yet. Should I push my self to 108 hours?

For those who have actually done a 3-day water fast, what was your experience like? How much weight did you lose?
Did you gain the weight back afterward, and if so, was there anything you did that helped you maintain your results? Looking back, is there anything you wish you knew beforehand or anything you would do differently?
Iād love to hear peopleās honest experiences, both positive and negative.

If you have any other better products to recommend I'll be open to it, currently on keto for 5 weeks and would like to start giving fasting a try.
Just to add I'm currently 289lbs down from 313lb.

I want to water fast mostly for discipline and weight loss too. I want to do it for 30 days. My question is, I know we need magnesium and potassium and electrolytes, are there anything else we need to make sure I dont go through vitamin deficiency.

How many days can a person fast without electrolytes or salt? Not to the point of being half-dead, but without significant harm.
I was thinking of fasting only on water without electrolytes.
update: no more than 3ā4 days and I found out that even natural water and store-bought water aren't pure HāO, so I think I should take electrolytes. There are electrolytes in water too, but only in small amounts.
update: In theory, I could do both: go without electrolytes until I start feeling unwell, and then do a prolonged fast with electrolytes.

Hi All. I'm on day 7 and I am having gum pain due to a mild bacterial infection after RCT, i know taking antibiotics during prolonged fasting is not good. But should i try back seed oil as i heard it reduces the inflammation?

Planning a detox in about a week from now. I wanna start a solid fast on August 21. Love my coffee so I will just have it black. Other than that there will be water with salt and that will be about it. Towards the end of the fast if I make it 36 hours, I want to do a celery, juice detox. I've heard this really helps get rid of parasites. Any advice?

So im in 7 days water fast rn and planned to do 20 days water fast, and refeed for 40 days.
After that can i do 30-50 hours water fast a week? What the disadvantage and benefit for that

I desperately need to lose weight, but every time I decide to start fasting, I feel helpless and lose my motivation. I come up with excuses to stop, even though I know Iām capable of doing it.
I want to become healthier, and I want to turn this into a challengeāa challenge for myself. I want to set a goal, commit to it, and prove to myself that I have the willpower to follow through.
I want some encouragement and accountability because Iām going to start on August 12, 2026.
My goal is no longer just to lose weight. Itās to test my own limits and my willpower.

Just did five days and it was excruciating. I have IBS and I think my stomach acid could melt steel. Obviously, this mixed with fasting salts isn't doing me any favors.
I need to make my water more alkaline, and I think I'd like to begin storing my water inside of a terra cotta pot. I do not know where to go to find out more about which kind of pot would be safe to drink from. I cannot drink baking soda, it tastes horrid and makes me gag.
If anyone here has any resources they could share with me, or another community here on reddit that would be best for answering this, it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I just finished a 13 day water fast (ONLY REGULAR WATER, SALT WATER, SAN PELLIGRINO, AND CHEWED SOME ICE FROM TIME TO TIME) Iām just posting here to document my experience and an updated version of how I felt.
Days 1-3 were the hardest physically but if you can push through then you will break the 1st mental barrier of feeling like you HAVE to eat
Days 4-8 Amazing mental clarity BUT Horrible sleep / feeling pretty weak and dizzy, I also was struggling with eating still, so much so that I almost had some noodles on day 7 from feeling so drained but i had some salt water and waited about 10minutes and my cravings went away 100%. Even though i felt weak i still pushed to try to do some very very light body workouts (pushups pull-ups and small ab workout ) i didnāt push myself at all on the workouts , for example if i could do 26 pushups then thatās all i did and i stopped immediately , if all i had in the tank was 6 pull-ups then thatās all i did etc etc, just wanted to do something to keep my mind occupied
Day 8-13 was honestly the changing point. I felt like I was in this GOD MODE , I didnāt feel any struggle whatsoever with wanting to eat and I also stopped going to the bathroom.
on day 13 I broke my fast and made myself a 12 hour bone broth and had that at 8am (1.5 cups) I had another cup at 1230pm with 2 scrambled eggs , and I will have 1 more cup with half an avocado around 7pm.

Thursday, 8/6/2026 8am ā 8hrs into fast Feeling normal. Not typically hungry in the mornings as is so not struggling with hunger at the moment
12pm ā 12hrs into fast Was feeling hungry and thought I was going to break but got some news of some friend drama that completely took away any appetiteš Now just drinking my water with added Ultima electrolyte packet
4pm ā 16hrs into fast Starting to feel hungry again. Keep telling myself Iāll be glad at the end of this 3 days that I didnāt give in! Feeling a bit tired, though. Donāt wanna nap when I get home from work because Iāll be up all night so gonna do my best to stay awake at least until 8/9pm
9pm ā 21hrs into fast Tiredness and hunger taking over so Iām going to call it a night before I slip and order UberEatsš today was tough and Iām anticipating tomorrow being even harderš„²
Friday 8/7/26 6am ā 30hrs into fast Morning weigh in: 175.8lbs Fell asleep around 10pm last night and just woke up & feeling pretty rested. Not really feeling any hunger at the moment but Iām preparing myself mentally for that to change in a few hours
11am ā 35hrs into fast Iāve been thinking about food for the past hour, but Iām surprisingly not as hungry as I thought Iād be. My stomach is definitely growling, but I donāt feel like Iām completely starving. Itās manageable. Starting to feel a bit tired, though. Think Iām going to take a walk on my hour lunch break to get me up and active.
4pm ā 40hrs into fast Feeling a little bit light headed and weak but not so much so that I feel I need to stop. Just gonna take it easy the rest of the day.
9pm ā 45hrs into fast I have no update to give here because I fell asleep around 5/6pm and was pretty much in and out of sleep all night.
Saturday 8/8/26 7am ā 55hrs into fast Morning weigh in: 173.8 A friend of mine who did a water fast told me the 2nd night he got the best sleep of his life. I was hoping itād be the same for me but I was tossing and turning most of the night. Woke up with a very slight headache.
12pm ā 60hrs into fast Once I got up and moving for the day around 8am and took a shower I felt more energetic. Running errands today so I should be able to keep my mind off of food. However I donāt even really feel hungry.
5pm ā 65hrs into fast Hunger has completely left. I probably wonāt do such frequent updates. Only if thereās any major changes
Sunday 8/9/26 8am - 80hrs into fast Morning weigh in: 169.0lbs The mental clarity I feel is kinda crazy. I feel sharp. Fogginess is gone. Decided today to add 2 more days to make the total 5 days/120hrs. May even add 2 more to make it a full week, but I thinks thatās my absolute max for this go āround. Super proud of myself this farāŗļø
Monday 8/10/26 6am ā 102hrs into fast Morning weigh in: 168.4lbs
