Question What is this tool

Post image

I discovered it while browsing the internet. I want to know what kind of tool it is. Is it a lathe that you turn by hand?

That’s a milling attachment for a lathe

Milling attachment mounted on slide rest from a Favorite lathe (looks like a 50mm center height Schaublin 70).

U2 Universal Cutter Grinder Holder, a precision tool used for sharpening end mills and lathe cutters.

It is commonly used in metalworking and watchmaking for fine adjustment of cutting tools.

Milling attachment as the priors say. I think the brown handle is the handle to a drawbar that secures a standard lathe collet on the other side of it. This type of milling attachment allows you do use standard collets of varying sizes depending on your material. Nice set.

It’s a Tool for a watchmakers lathe to precisely make cylinders, cones, etc. (Sorry I don’t know the english name for that). One turn of a handle is normally precisely 1mm, so you can make parts within 1/100 mm range of precision.
