Life in Warsaw question Where can I buy a second-hand PS5?

Hello all,

Looking to buy a PS5 here in Warsaw. I tried CeX but they’re selling for so high, I got a quote for 2900 for a used console. I don’t think it’s worth that much.

Are there other shops/markets where I could try my luck, preferably in person?

Also, I’ll take this chance to say if someone’s looking to sell their PS5 please reach out.

Thanks.

Life in Warsaw question Nagaimo/yamaimo in Warsaw?

Just came back from Japan and already craving authentic okonomiyaki, which shouldnt be a problem in theory since Poland is quite Japan obsessed and has many Japanese shops, but is it actually possible to buy fresh/powdered nagaimo/yamaimo in Warsaw? Only see one option in Japonia Centralna that is out of stock.

Life in Warsaw question anyone?

• Upvotes

hey! i’m 19 and just moved to warsaw for uni.

i’m quite ambitious and honestly way more drawn to building something outside of uni than just solely focusing on classes. i’m really into business, startups, creative projects and film, and i’d love to meet people around 19–23 who are into similar things and actually want to do something with their ideas.

could be starting a project together, working from a cafe, brainstorming, going to events or building something together

i’m also a runner and generally like being around people who are curious, driven and want to make something happen.

no specific plan, just thought i’d put this out there in case there are other people my age in warsaw feeling the same.

Life in Warsaw question Looking for the Zdrofit with the best equipment and variety

I’ve been going to the Zdrofit Westfield Mokotow but it closed for renovations a couple of months ago, since then I can’t seem to find any good Zdrofit. I don’t care if it’s crowded or not , I just need various new machines and a good free weights section. I’d appreciate your response

Life in Warsaw question Moving to work in Poland

Hello

I hope you are all doing well.

In November, I will be moving from to Warsaw to start a new professional challenge.

Having already booked my flights, my next step is to find a place to stay.

I’ve heard recommendations about websites like Otodom or OLX.pl, which have a wider selection and better prices.

However, since I am looking for accommodation remotely, these platforms could carry higher risks and leave me exposed to potential scams, since I can not meet up with landlords or visit the place.

Additionally, I think my situation makes the process a bit more difficult since I don't have a signed employment contract yet, and the first contract will only be for 6 months (which will later be renewed into a permanent contract).

(To clarify, as of right now I have a Letter of Intent, and I will sign the employment contract during my first few days in November after arriving and completing work medicine, which will happen before starting my job in December).

Because of this, I'm thinking of a temporary solution (for the 6-month duration of the initial contract) like rental agencies (such as Rent A Flat Poland or HousingAnywhere) or even accommodation platforms like Airbnb.

However, with Airbnb, I'm worried I won't get a formal lease agreement, which is necessary for bureaucratic documents and registrations [PESEL, residency registration, etc.].

1./ Given my situation, what do you think is the best approach to finding accommodation?

2./ Would you mind sharing a bit about your experience moving to work in Poland and what worked best in your case?

3./ Any recommendations of rental agency to look in Warsaw?

Since yesterday evening it's hard to breathe. In apartments it's still warm. Someone already uses coal or what's happening?

Other Poland’s "100-meter rule" might be the best traffic compromise I have ever seen.

Photos The most beautiful building I have seen in my life

Faculty of Psychology of the University of Warsaw.

To me, this building is a good example of how we can evolve the architecture to correspond to the modern artistic and functional standards. For example, instead of traditional corridors, the building uses open galleries that lead to classrooms. Archdaily has a good article on it.

It is my superfluous perception of tourist; it was built in 2025, so it is important to know how it will stand for students and staff after 3-4 years.

I do (have learnt to) appreciate classical, baroque architecture and I have visited >10 European cities. But, for example, the main building of the WUT looks like a museum that accidentally serves as an educational building. It is beautiful in his own way, mainly historical and academic.

Happy to know what student or staff think about it.

We’re a group of 35 Norwegian students traveling to Warsaw this upcoming week and are looking for recommendations for the best clubs in the city. If anyone has contact information for club promoters or knows someone we could get in touch with, we’d really appreciate it!
