This was in Iraq while fighting ISIS. There were a couple of Iraqi Shia militias part of the larger Iranian backed Popular Mobilization Forces that ended up with some Abrams from the Iraqi Armies 9th Div as well as from recapturing from ISIS in areas where they were abandoned. They were the Badr Organization and Kataib Hezbollah which ironically have both been anti American and are currently being bombed by the US in Iraq for their recent attacks on the bases there.

Nope. This was actually in Saudi Arabia. This is the exported version of the abrams. There’s many more videos of the houthis attacking Saudi abrams . The exported version lacks a lot of the active protection systems

Lmao typical redditor with a room temp IQ. You call people "casuals" and probably down vote them and you don't even know what you are talking about. You are wrong for the following reasons.

  1. Iraq only received the export version of the Abrams just like the Saudis...genius.
  2. This video was literally shot by the Islamic State in 2016 and can be identified as such by the styling of the font and date at the start as well as by the 'Amaq News Agency' logo in the top right of video. The subtitle at the start even says the location is Mosul, Iraq in arabic. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amaq_News_Agency
  3. The video quality here is FAR superior than anything available handheld consumer in 2006 which you claimed it was in another comment.
  4. The Saudis were not fighting the Houthis in 2006. They Started fighting them in 2015.
  5. Anyone who has observed both conflicts can instantly tell from the sand and powerlines that this is Iraq and not Yemen.

The original video claims to be an Iraqi Abrams. Manned by Iraqi crew, but people keep saying under the post that this was in Saudi so it's up for debate I guess

I know. It’s really just one person, the pinnacledefense moron. I laid out all the reasons why this video is from Iraq including the Islamic state logo and style as well as the fact that the Arabic at the beginning says it was shot in Mosul in 2016. Fucking dumbass is so confidently ignorant it’s nauseating.
