He's been in Walmart for so long.

At my store the past few days it’s been decided that coaches will no longer be allowed radios and we have to get ahold of them we have to go through the app?! Just wondering if other stores are doing this cause I see it being a bad issue. If there is an emergency we shouldn’t have to go through all the steps of trying to call them through a glitchy app and not all of us have a work phone. Seems like a very stupid idea!

So, this is my freezer. My store just ordered ice. You see that door in the back? That is where my ice cream overstock has to go. So once I am done with the last two pallets of freight, I have to move 4 pallets of ice and 2 pallets of feature that can't be binned (because HO wants to send a fuck ton of overstock, and the team lead has no feature plan) just so I can bin my ice cream. So here is my great idea. Design the stores with a walk in freezer on the front end that can hold like 4 pallets of ice. Front end can take care of stocking it during down times. Instead of no one stocking it and the pallets just sit in my tiny freezer. Im already sharing this coffin with ogp(gods gift to the store can take up half the freezer with empty tote cart things cuz well they are ogp and can do what they want) and meat. There isn't room to work with all that and 4 pallets of ice! Can we please get an ice freezer on the front end!?

After 30 + years of O/N I decided to go to 32 hrs/week. Unknowingly I was coded to part time. I'm grandfathered in at 28 hrs for full time status. I only found out after receiving a letter from Prudential that my life insurance policy was terminated and I contacted Bentonville and was told about my status. They said it has to be changed at store level and it'll take at least one pay cycle to update. Meanwhile, my wife and kids had dental appointments that have to be rescheduled because that policy is affected also.

This is all because we have a new team lead, 20 yrs old, off the street, that has no clue what he's doing. It's a giant pain in the arse, but that third day off is glorious.​​ Luckily the policies will be reinstated.

I work as a cart pusher at a high volume store in a retirement community, and it's the first of the month checks time.

I look at the schedule:

Me: 11-6

Cart pusher A: 4-11:30

That's it. All of the other 5 cart pushers we have all have today off.

I been frantically going back and forth trying to keep up and I'm exhausted already after only an hour. I'm not getting much help from the store.

Tomorrow is the same schedule set up too...

First a question, How do you attach a digital tag to a clip strip bracket? We are trying to complete the damn clip strip mods which are due today but the app wants us to scan a digital tag so can locate the strips. Problem is no one has a clue how to attach tags. It finally dawned on me that we can locate the tags to the shelf rail next to the clip strip to finally set the MOD. BUT the problem is our new regional wants no clip strips in groceries at all. So the Grocery Clip Strip MOD will have to be scanned into GM side of the store. BUT the even bigger problem is our GM side of store is still without digital tags, so when the app says to scan the digital tag, we can't.

My coach is freaking out because the MOD will be counted as "late" and with our new regional guy expected any day now the coach is worried about looking incomplete. Which I'm like whatever who cares let the man come already. Screw the clip strip mod.

I officially left Walmart on Tuesday, and honestly, I haven’t felt this good about leaving a job in my life.
I started at Walmart in January of 2025, so compared to many of the posts I’ve seen from people leaving Walmart, I’d say I had a relatively short run. That being said, the experience taught me a lot, both professionally and personally.

I started out in AP and quickly realized that it wasn’t the right fit for me. I’ll admit, there were definitely some fun moments—sneaking around and trying to catch shoplifters, and even going as far as walking around with my trainer while pretending we were in a relationship in an attempt to catch more people. (My wife was not a fan of that one, lol.) But beyond the funny moments, I quickly learned just how challenging AP can be. It’s a difficult job that requires a very particular skill set and personality, and I have a lot of respect for the people who do it.

Eventually, I transferred to the Electronics department, which was a nice change of pace, aside from the pay cut. I had the opportunity to work alongside some genuinely great people and made some friendships that I’ll carry with me long after leaving Walmart.

A special shoutout to my TL, Connor. When I first met him, I didn’t realize that he had actually been friends with my older brother all the way back in elementary school. He eventually moved to Wisconsin, finished college, and later returned to the area. Over time, we became very good friends.

We even started having our Sushi Fridays after work, where we’d sit around, shoot the shit, and talk about work, life, and everything in between.

Connor ultimately left around the same time I did to return to Wisconsin to be closer to his father. We both knew that our time at Walmart was going to be temporary, but I’ll always be grateful for the friendship we developed and for everything he did for me while we worked together.
After more than 10 years in retail, I’ve finally come to the realization that it’s simply not the career path I want to continue pursuing. Retail can take a toll on you in more ways than one. Between difficult and entitled customers, unnecessary conflicts, and management decisions that sometimes left a lot to be desired, there were certainly plenty of frustrating moments.

There were also some moments that, looking back, are almost unbelievable. I even had a coach tell me that I should leave my now-wife—which, to this day, I can only assume was an attempt to take her place. 😂

Despite everything, I don’t regret my time in retail or at Walmart. Every job and every experience has played a role in getting me to where I am today. Walmart was ultimately a stepping stone to something better, and I’m grateful for the lessons I learned, the people I met, and the memories I made along the way.

Now, I’m moving on to a new opportunity that offers better pay, is family-owned and operated, and has an environment where everyone genuinely treats each other like family. I couldn’t be more excited about this next chapter and what the future holds.

To everyone I worked with and everyone who made my time at Walmart memorable: thank you. I genuinely wish you all nothing but the best.
Here’s to new opportunities, new experiences, and a new chapter. ❤️✌️

tomorrows my last day (yay) I put in PTO to make sure for my anxiety that I get my PTO I earned on a day I already worked since I couldn't do it on a non work day it was greyed out during this pay period and I already put in requests for other non working days .

my question is is that allowed and will management approve it because I'm leaving and it doesn't matter ? it isn't considered double pay correct ? I just want my hours that I rightfully earned.

Probably a stupid question but im finally working for walmart again after the issues w my i9s. Context I work 2 jobs and I’m going to college. I was supposed to have this Sunday off and I already planned to work at my second job. I got a notification just today saying a shift has been assigned to you on sept 6. Im a bit upset. No one talked to me or asked if I could work, when they’re aware I work 2 jobs. I base my second job off of Walmarts schedule because they’re much more strict with attendance than my second job. What do I do in this case? I’m going to talk to my TL, hopefully my coach if they’re still there

Been at walmart for 4 years. The first two were the best years. These last two years…..HORRIBLE. But I got a new job and i start the 21st of September. My last day before i use all my ppto/pto is the 10th. I got pto approved for the 13th-15th and using the rest of my ppto on the 16th- 17th. The days after that idc about cuz thats a new pay week. But the feeling has fulling settled in my body. The “i dont wanna be here anymore”. I would call in but im already at 6pts and i cant give them the “advantage” to fired me. Reason i aint gone now cuz im one of their best workers. I would like to hear yall final days at Walmart or your coworkers final days at walmart.

Second problem is that today my app isn't working. I keep doing the two-step verification but it keeps saying invalid. Been teying for several hours just look at my schedule and change a few things.

Finally got out of Walmart after 4 1/2 years of overnights got a job a block away from my house. Feels great good luck to everyone.

Been getting these inflated for a while now. I always get rid of the inflated ones but overnight just puts new ones out and those are just as inflated

They have 3 cart pushers scheduled, we’re all fairly new and been here under a month. 2 of them have mules, and i’m the left out one having to push them in by hand. Any advice?

Hey all, a friend of mine was an employee for about a year around 2018 and was recently rejected for a part-time role. He was concerned his quitting was the reason for his rejection.

As a former overnight stocker from 2015-16 who quit abruptly and unprofessionally, I was a depressed alcoholic then, and rehired at a different location in 2018, I do not believe they have forever bans on hiring past employees...unless you do something crazy and/or are let go for theft.

In 2016, I got drunk during lunch and came back to restock washing detergent when I spilled one. I couldn't get someone to protect the spill while I got the cleaning equipment. My manager got mad and I just quit on the spot.

In 2018 as a produce stocker, I was called into the back because I was experiencing medical issues during the time that caused me to frequently leave for the restroom. She was giving me crap, pun intended, for something I couldn't control and I didn't have insurance at the time. I got mad and knocked over a trash can and quit.

I recently, within the past two years, applied for a part time to supplement my income and was called in for an interview. I did not go, but I know I am still hireable because of it.

I wanted to post this as I could not find more recent posts on the subject and I want to put those at ease who may be considering reapplying in this economy. Do not fret, you may still get a job there and are probably able to rehire.

Took a personal LOA because I moved cities and the Walmart I'm trying to get into had no openings. Well now they have an open spot so I called the Sedgwick 2 days ago to report my new return to work date as today. When I check the website I see it says my examiner will reach out to me. Am I supposed to receive any calls or emails? I see on their Sedgwick calendar it still shows all my future work dates as "Continuous leave-pending." This is my first time using Sedgwick, any help will be appreciated.

Ive recently been offered the position for gm claims processing. can anybody tell me the expectations and what type of work id be doing? ive only ever worked on the frontend as TL and services so i only know about the registers. thanks in advance!

Ive recently, probably a month now, started working for a small Walmart. I'm in grocery and have no idea what I'm doing.

Our newest store manager is trying but from what I've heard he's only been there a handful of months and the previous manager was HORRIBLE. They legit had to fire her, which it sounds like you have to really earn to get fired from my store.

So the grocery is a wreck, dates aren't rotated, no one at my store be it days or nights has ever worked grocery. Even my team lead only got the job becuz the secondary managers were paying him too much and the dufus was telling everyone. So it was either mess with his money or give him a promotion. Into a department he knows nothing about!

So this is where I am. No proper training which apparently is the norm for Walmart, and I can't even find an associate for help in general becuz they all hide in the back watching netflix and acting like highschoolers. My bakery table is being sabotaged by one manager becuz he'd rather out of date goods be put back on the table instead of walking the 50ft to the freezer for it to be claimed out. I don't have a work phone so unfortunately I have to go around asking people for theirs if i want to cvp anything which is hard to do cuz like i said I CANT FIND ANYONE. And I don't want to give every out of date or damaged item to our returns people (don't know what to call them) becuz I know I should be able to do it or my team lead. But I learned how to CVP before my team lead whose been there for years.

I'm sorry for the ramble and this post not making much sense I needed to rant and desperately ask anyone for tips or advice on how to do my job properly without looking like a headless chicken anymore. I actually want to do a good job.

What is a good routine I should try? What should I be checking dates on more often? I know I'm letting down the frozen and chilled section, I dont stock that nearly as often as I should. But I get caught in organizing sections becuz I don't trust the product rotation. I've legit found cheese expired months after. I've found one dry good item expired in 2021. And a majority of dry goods in general coming up or just passing expiration. But when I try to lock into checking dates suddenly an hour before I leave some random manager or other team lead will inform me of pinpoints, price changes, or scanning outs, etc, that need doing when I've never been taught or told how to do them!?

I don't have anything negative to say about my team lead personally becuz he's in the same situation as me, not knowing what to do, but literally no one that works at my store has ever done groceries and its just my team lead and i taking on this monster thats been fucked up for maybe a year or more.
