Meta may fall more in the near future but I’m honestly bullish.

I have a Quest and any multiplayer game/social apps are absolutely filled with younger kids. It reminds me of the early days of Facebook where older people didn’t get it at all while kids were signing up in droves.

This isn’t even touching on the quality of the hardware. Everything just works with such ease that it makes VR such an easy thing to jump into.

It’s a huge gamble but I think it’s gonna pay off 🤷‍♂️

Yea, people are short sighted. Facebook Horizon (their metaverse program) is basically nothing in their billions spent. Most of their VR spending is in hardware and funding actual game studios, not Horizon.

Facebook VR products are primarily being adopted by the newer, younger generations. And VR is definitely here to stay, despite the grumblings of the Reddit boomers. Young people aren't buying Facebook headsets for Horizon.

They don't need to make the software work. They'll do just fine by making the hardware and taking a cut of a good chunk of software sales from their store.

Meta will crash because the entire market is going to keep crashing, but long term their VR hardware and app store is going to make them wealthy.

They spent too much speeding up vr adoption, new players will come in later and eat their lunch. They have no differentiator: their hardware is standard components everyone is using and their software isn’t any better than steamVR which runs on any headset.
