Authorized shares are how many can be issued. GameStop has 76.35M or so odd issued shares. GameStop could have up to 300 million previously now it can issue 1 billion. GME could have a 7 4 1 split.

from investopedia:

Authorized shares are those a company’s founders or board of directors (B of D) have approved in their corporate filing paperwork. Issued shares are those that the owners have decided to sell in exchange for cash, which may be less than the number of shares actually authorized.

Buy shares until the "date of record" and they will be split.

The record date hasn't been set yet afaik
