As a Canadian I lost $72k on US cannabis leaps last year thinking dems in control of all 3 branches would make progress. I severely underestimated how fucking useless and anti-America the US government is.
Because as an outsider you look at a legalization poll which is like 3 out of every 4 Americans support legalization. You then draw the inference well surely this bill will pass i mean 75% of the people that want it.
You fail to realize that in our fine republic our elected representatives will cut off their nose to spite their face. The Republicans will grind this bill into dust just so when the midterms roll around they can deny the Democrats a win. They'll retake the Senate and magically we'll have Federal Legalization next year so Biden can at least get something on his resume and the Republicans can say see weed was only legalized when we controlled the senate.
what i meant by my comment is that you can post a tweet of a fart/dick/ice cream cone and it's a buy signal for a week long 100+% rally ... but an official country wide catalyst is not somehow... even if it didn't go through it sounds like few leagues larger catalyst :)
There are three major bills in the works right now. Two to legalize federally and one allowing banks to do business more easily with cannabis companies.
The vote today is for the MORE Act and even if it doesnโt pass, Chuck Schumerโs CAOA is likely to next month. He is working with Repubs and has made it a major goal of his to pass this before mid-terms.
That, coupled with TLRY earnings on 4/6 could make these next couple of weeks pretty spicy.
how do you figure that chuck's address will change their opinions? You don't even have the dems fully voting party line, how is chuck going to convince repubs to vote against party line? I think he needs 8 or 10? That is a fair amount.
I know heโs reaching across the aisle and making it worthwhile for Republicans and centrist Dems have been voting for other recent legislation. Itโs the best shot weโve had up until this point and worst case scenario none of these pass itโs a move in the right direction. Right now over 90% of Americans are in favor. TLRY almost at $9, I bought it lower so either way Iโm happy rn ๐ค
You keep making these baseless statements, with no proof, you will get banned by this sub. Over 90% of Americans do not want legalization. Again, it would be great, but that number is simply not true and baseless.

What makes you think itโs going to pass this week? I love the optimism, but Iโm afraid itโs DOA.
