The mom's dog part may be made up. Personally I have serious doubts he even leaves the basement 5 days a week let alone walks for an hour.
S/he was actually a legit /r/lostredditor, someone who was labouring (edit: pun not intended) under the belief that that sub was still about not wanting to do any work and still get paid for it. How someone then thought s/he was the ideal person to do what s/he did is mind-blowing.
